CHEMISTRY. You think a team FULL of Gretzky's would be able to compete ?That's a one off, bad analogy, but you get the idea.

Yup, well maybe throw in 4 Semenkos. Might as well keep Dubs, he would be good enough on that team

Eakins is getting less out of this team than Kreuger did. Eakins has more to work with. It is time to coach to the strengths of our team. Everyone including the team talk about the Detroit way, well guess what Babcock wanted to coach one way and was forced to coach another way by how the players played.

It's pathetic that with more talent we are getting less results.

Not a Scabs fan, but he belongs in MTL with Galchenyuk. One of Josh Georges/Raphael Diaz and a 1st. Scabs take some $ back if possible.

Boom shakalaka Boom !

I read on a comment on Oilersnation (and have not researched to back it up) that Yak was played 31 seconds in the next 11 or so minutes after scoring that go-ahead goal in Chicago. That would put any player down.

I remember Dallas Eakins preaching that you have to get to know the individual players on a personal level. Doesn't seem to be practicing what he preaches.

I am in no way suggesting to fire Eakins, because we all know it isn't the coach. But maybe this heart to heart with Larionov might be good for both Eakins and Yakupov.

I honestly don't think this team improves without a better centre. Gagner and Arco are not the best options. I like Gagner's heart but his subpar skating makes it difficult to cover the entire ice. Gagner + 1st rounder for a centre like Jordan Staal is what we need.

My 2 cents.

Sorry man- this is coach... Not saying he has to be gone but saying you cant pull the goal scorer and place him on the pine for 11 mins after he scored, further you cant leave your goal scorer on the bench when on the PP and you cant leave him seated when the goalie is pulled and you need a game tying goal... Either Eakins is stubborn, or given direction from above or just doesnt get NHL or all of the above...

We were better last year and at least this year we have some more grit in the forward group.

Gretzky would be in net, and with 4 Semenko's, the trainers could clean out all the drains, make a sasquatch, and bam ! There's your new mascot. What would you call him though ?

Chemistry??? maybe its coach system and set up??? Our PP is a (frank)ing perimeter game now when we were in the top 10 last year... PK has been improving but it was a laughing stock of the league a few games ago... and in regards to chemistry- the lines have been macblended a fair amount so how do you gain any momentum when you are up and down the line up??

I disagree. (frank) Yak. Listen to your coach and good things happen. His 2 way is brutal and hasnt improved. I would agree with you if he was showing some improvment, but he hasnt. Nothing wrong with trying to make a talented player into a complete player. With his dad talking about the KHL, and his agent talking trade I think MacT will be making a trade. He isnt worth it as far as im concerned
- doon

The guy led us in scoring as a rookie. The guy has talent. Maybe instead of changing all these players so early we should start helping them along. It's not like Hall and Eberle are a lot better defensively and they are older.

I'm not sure what happened with Yak and the media, but as far as on ice Eakins has (frank)ed up. Using him on the point on the PP, when he clearly is way better on the right side closer to the net.

Things would be different from me if we were winning, but we aren't. Time for the coach to change his style.

The team has gone backwards under Eakins coaching.....especially Yaks. A lot of people can't understand why this guys thinks your "offensive stars" should kill penalties on a regular basis. Do you wnat Hall of the Nuge to break a bone in their foot blocking a shot? This guys got some wierd ideas and the proof is in the pudding. He wasn't much of a player so who says he right.

Good point......but you have to question the sanity of any coach that throws a player like the Nuge for 28 minutes in his first game back after months of rehabbing from shoulder surgery!

I would if he were our 2nd or 3rd... but he is kind of in there as default now due to the annual changes in that position with this organization... but as Tallon stated its always easier to fire the 1 coach than the entire team and I tend to think he has a point... but simply- I cant quite figure out MacTs logic in firing Krueger after one year other than to make a statement and stamp on the team... but had Krueger remained at least the team would have something to build off of - even tho I til today cant figure out what system if any Krueger implemented...

My thoughts exactly... I think he (Eakins) was just the prize of potential and due to the heavy media publicity he looked more appealing than he really is... IMO and that of others he has done way less with a way better team than Krueger... and its cost this organization more embarrassment... If he is indeed fired this year I bet MacT takes the reigns himself...

I don't recall the Marlies PP playing perimeter hockey, never, ever. It's on the player to go to the net, not the coach. I can't see ANY player in this league moving up and down their respective line up, that plays balls to the walls hard nosed hockey (and can live to talk about it). Unless it's for line matching etc.

Your team played with grit last year, and took some hard hits and injuries because of it (Hall). You don't want Taylor hall etc etc. , trying to be a grinders when their not. Every team needs grit to succeed, and you have none.

That is a bit odd, and Nuge isn't exactly a physical specimen to begin with. At least not one that can endure TOI like that on a regular basis.

I just don't know why Eakins sit there criticizing all of these guys for not adjusting, yet he makes no adjustments himself. He seems quite rigid in his system and policies. He needs to adapt. Kruger did more with less....

Im not saying Eakins is a great coach, but im just tired of the blaming them. If Yak would just listen to his coach he wold be fine. The kid needs to grow up, and his agent isnt helping.
