I can see Miller signing there long term.. no doubt about it..

I brought up the Nashville idea a few weeks ago...

They are in such dire need of offense.. I think we could make a trade interesting with them...

Miller, Moulson, and Grigo for Shea Weber and a prospect or Stahlberg/Colin Wilson??

Than we can turn and trade Ehrhoff for something back on offense elsewhere.

- JVince11

They'd never trade Shea Weber in a million years. I know, I know... Gretzky..

I was thinking earlier about a Miller and Moulson deal to Nashville. They are not only hurting in goal but are anemic offensively as well. If we could pry away Wilson or Forsberg, great.

As long as you don't take Ekblad. Reinhart would be a better fit for you guys anyway.
- laughs2907

If Oilers come in 30th and win the lottery, past track record shows they will take Reinhart and the Sabres will take Ekblad.

The only way Detroit does that imo is if they get to re-sign Miller. I just don't see it. Nashville or St. Louis could be possibilities for Miller. If Rinne is out for an extended period of time, the Preds will need to do something. Playing that kid won't work. They could trade for Elliott as a stop gap which could open a Miller to the Blues scenario. Just not buying the Miller to Detroit idea but ya never know.
- mhp

Even if Rinne is out the whole year. The Preds arent going to pay the price for Miller for the year. They would just prolly just write the year off and challenge for a lottery pick and hope to get an impact forward to help them for the future. Or they sign some random free agent goalie. The blues are fine with Halak and Allen. I could see the Pred's going for Elliot. I still say that Miller needs to waive for EDM. They could give Buffalo the biggest return. And they could be on the rise in a hurry.

SFO claims that Howard wants out of Detroit.......which make zero sense, why would he want out?

I don't think the Preds would want to give up on their season, hence an Elliott deal there would make sense.

I could def see an Elliot deal. But in no way shape or form do I see the Preds even calling on Miller. Makes zero sense. The risk of prospects being shipped out would hurt theyre future growth.

Nothing wrong with Reinhart (obviously) but given the Oilers needs, if that happens, I will be sending Oilers management a bag of my piss.

It could come down to St. Louis or Detroit for Miller then. Maybe. We shall see.

A team lacking offense isnt going to give up their top offensive prospect and one of the few offensive players they have on their roster. Unless you are adding Ennis moulson and/or hodgeson back.

His 14M salary can only be paid for so long by that organization before they go out of business. 3 more years at 14M then two years at 12M..

I don't think their small scale organization can afford that when they purposely operate at least 10M under the cap most seasons.

If the have to buyout Rinne to sign a new goalie due to injury then that is one thing.

You serious clark? Look at his salary cap hit starting next year...

You think that their tiny organization that usually operates at atleast 10M under the cap hit due to money issues can afford his 18M cap hit??

no... they drafted another D-man to go along with their already stacked D-corps for a reason..

- JVince11

They have some wealthy owners. Just saying. They went out and over paid a bunch of guys to play in Nashville. Theyre fine.

I was adding Moulson into that idea but doubtful the Preds would take that chance in moving their young guys.

I'm just thinking their bean counters thought things through when they tossed all that do-re-mi at him. Now, if Rinne is out long term and they're interested in bringing in another goalie then that's a different story.

$14M... That's just SICK !!!

They can't buy Rinne out if he's injured. Unless I'm reading what you posted wrong.
