There's no ship. Ron Rolston's team is bad because he's been given one of the worst rosters that has ever been put together. Admittedly, he has done nothing to improve this situation, but I don't know what he might have done to accomplish that. The Sabres have put together probably the worst team, with the worst team management, that has ever been placed on ice, and they've done it in a year when there is no game changing number 1 pick. I would expect them to lose to most AHL teams, ECHL teams and colleges. For that matter, if you made an all star team of your beer league, you'd probably beat them.

The Sabres don't have a ship.

If we played years with "not enough" RH D-men, why not play with "not enough" LH d-men? Especially since the 4 you mention are better than any others we have (assuming Myers gets back on track).

We're also pretty good on the left side too
Ehrhoff & Weber... Both signed & prob here for at least a few years (barring a trade)
Zadorov... Who needs plenty of work, but also has tons of upside & has shown flashes of good things to come
McNabb... Who most say should be up here, & I think will end up being pretty darn good
McCabe... Just good all-around, & I think will eventually take ehrhoff's spot

In general, we're pretty stacked everywhere on defense
A few years from now I see it looking like this:
Ehrhoff-Ristolainen
Zadorov-Myers
McNabb-Pysyk
Ruhwedel
-with McCabe eventually finding a spot

The way I see it, all those guys have top4 potential (except prob Ruhwedel)... So even if some of them don't work out, we should still be in very good shape for years

I think Dineen did a great job for us in the minors
Love to have him back
Craig Ramsey might be older, but there's little question about what a good hockey mind he has
Either, or both, would be a welcome addition to our organization

I don't necessarily wanna ship out ALL the vets, but it seems like there'd be a great deal on interest in him...
With all the teams that desperately need a defenseman right now, Darcy can prob get a pretty damn good return for him
