Seeing Carolina and NJ ahead of us says it all. Pure embarrassment.

The second and sixth place teams are all within four points of each other, so nothing that a bit of a winning steak can't cure for the Islanders. And for the Rangers, they have been playing well, but because of their start, they are only one game over the break even point. They need to keep winning, or they could slide down the standings.

That Gif didn't make it look Theisman bad... but perhaps the aftermath is bad... At least Stamkos is young... Damn... That really sucks if its a bad broken leg. Especially with the Olympics.

At first I thought it was the left leg that went full steam into the post, but watching that it looks like the right leg.

You know that's broken. You can actually see the pain and fear on Stmakos' face. That's awful.

Hopefully he recovers quickly but at best I think he's out 2-3 months

That might be optimistic, that's gonna need major surgery likely & a long recovery. Great kid, terrible for Tampa Bay.

According to Elliotte Friedman, of CBC, the Rangers are believed to be looking at undrafted defenseman Colin Suellentrop who plays for the Oshawa Generals.

Suellentrop, 20, was drafted by the Flyers in the 4th round in 2011 but wasn’t signed and then went undrafted this past June.

Friedman says that Suellentrop has worked really hard at improving his skating and that could be a “classic late-bloomer.”

He notes that Sullentrop went to Montreal’s rookie camp and that he is from Florida which could make the Panthers a possible choice.

He is 6-1, 190 and described himself as being a “defensive defenseman…a shutdown guy.” The Flyers, as of last year, were happy with the development track he was on.

The Courier Post says that some scouts thought he was developing into a strong defensive player.

He was a teammate of former Rangers prospect Christian Thomas so the Rangers have likely been watching him for a while.

If the Rangers sign him, this will make the fourth undrafted free agent defensemen they have signed in the last year, Allen, Hughes and Donnay being the others. They are certaintly building up their organizational defensive depth.

As bad and as gruesome looking as some of these broken leg injuries can be, you are better off breaking your tibia then tearing an ACL. He could conceivably be back at the end of this year, which is never the case with a torn ACL. Hell, even Kevin Ware, who had the most gruesome leg break I've ever seen (including Theisman's) is already playing 8 months after the injury.

As someone with a partially torn left ACL and who tore the medial meniscus in both knees, I can attest to that

Yup, claiming Boston did it intentionally, from looking at the replay, it was hockey play, plain and simple. Horrible end result but not intent to injure
