I'm not a huge fan of Brière, but I'm ready to see what he can do at center. Can't be much worse than Desharnais, can it?

I don't see how.....

Maybe if he took even more useless penalties while not producing offensively and being a defensive liability....

Useless Penalties increase in frequency when the player doesn't care anymore.

30-40 pims annually with the ducks, 70-90 in his last years with the habs.

I remember the last game against the Leafs about 5 years ago. If they won, they clinched a playoffs spot. Won 5-2 after 2 periods, and then Koivu and Bégin took like 4 hooking penalties in the neutral zone

so it's not becasue he p[probably plays 2nd-3rd line minutes with the ducks and thus is on the ice a lot less?

I'm just wondering how long Brière's leash will be if he sucks as much as Desharnais at center? Will it be as long as DD? Or will they try to reunite them in an attempt to make them better? Oh my, this is getting exciting...

nay hates him.

reduced ice time, and playing in situations that he no longer has the ability to compete in are also factors.

But near the end of his tenure here you could tell he was sick of it.

he didn't always average 1 pim per game, 30-40 were normal in his prime aswell.

how about having to do too much to cover for other suckier players not being where they should be?!?

He took a few dumb penalties...yeah, so what? You can't say he didn't care...he probably cared more than you cared about anything in your life.

If Andrighetto plays more like Gallagher than like Pacioretty, I don't really care what his size is. By that time, Gionta, Desharnais and Brière should be gone, so it's not a big deal to have 2 midgets in the lineup (Hopefully Gorges, Diaz and Bouillon are gone too).
