Maybe he meant Valeri?
- Jsaquella

Val scored Candace Cameron......I'm sure he's doing just fine without a call from the Hall..

Rosehill's solid game means he's now a fixture in the lineup. Look for a 3 year extension any day now.

Raffl hasn't impressed in the least, but I do not for the life of me get the refusal to play McGinn on the 4th line. This nonsense that they believe he needs top line minutes is ridiculous. Mcginn isn't a top line player in the NHL. In fact if he's going to make it as a regular it will be as a 4th line player.

- PLindbergh31

I hear you, and totally agree. I don't get that one. Andreas Nodl couldn't stay on the fourth line because he couldn't score. Tye McGinn can't stay here because he...does the stuff Andreas Nodl couldn't do, but doesn't do the stuff Nodl did.

Trust me, I have no idea how it works. There must be some secret code to get to play on the fourth line for the Philadelphia Flyers that not everybody can crack.

Raffl not at practice; possible he may have been sent down

Meanwhile in Detroit; Daniel Cleary may be a healthy scratch

Cleary looks like he lost 4 steps. I was in favor of him, but man, he looks like he's Hal Gill out there.

Ha! Just pointing out that we might not have answered all of our questions, no matter how hard we try.

Though I'm seeing that Raffl may just have the flu, per Twitter.

That feels like a dodged bullet right now, for sure.

Well, Bure is in. He got elected last year.

Both Lindros and Fedorov belong...look at Cam Neeley being in as my argument for both Lindros and Tim Kerr

- Jsaquella

Well Lindros and Kerr were Flyers so that seems to count against them, not for them...

You don't see Ken Holland F up too often, but that last-minute deal to snatch Cleary out of the Flyers' clutches seemed not too well thought out... especially considering the sheer number of NHL-ready forward prospects they have in the system.

I knew they were going to get "sick" of losing sooner or later. Hopefully Saturdays game helps them get healthy again.. In the standings.

If the Flyers are as pumped as I am for this next game, Ottawa doesn't have a chance. I really thought the boys came together all last game for their captain. If they can keep that teamwork going, they should finally start playing up to their potential. And let's face it, on paper, this team has a lot of potential.

Cleary was never fast, but man he looks really slow now. Fortunately they added Downie who doze bring a lot of what Cleary did

How are the Lightning 12-4? Who did they add to replace Lecavalier?

They also have 13 feet of stiffs between the pipes.

Although I will mourn the loss of Max Talbot, I agree that Downie is probably a better lineup fit than Max. Now, whether or not he can be effective and/or be a better contributor to the team remains to be seen.

I like Max, but Downie is better & fills a bigger need.

For all that leadership & good guy in the room, the Flyers were coming off a missed playoffs season & were among worst teams in league with him. Not a knock, but he's an asset they sold high on

So, I was reading on TSN excerpts of an interview with Satan Bettman, and he didn't propose anything directly, but brought up a hypothetical automatic game misconduct for a fighting major. If that ever was the case, I'd hope that, if the Flyers ever play the Pens in a playoff series, our 4th line goes out against the Crosby line and just straight up starts running players from the drop of the puck. As soon as they feel we crossed the line, the gloves come off and their top players get tossed. Thoughts?

That's why the NHL needs nuance, can't make it an automatic thing.

In this post, you clearly show your ignorance to how the NHL functions. From flipping the puck over the boards, to head shots, to boarding, to icing, to instigator...the NHL has no use for logic and reason. Their calls are based solely on the black-and white,

The last time they tried to give anyway leeway to teams was the negated icing on "attempted pass." I think that rule is now completely gone, as I've literally seen pucks go between intended target's legs or between the target's body and stick and still be called icing.
