Repeat? Now I gotta call you a kool-aid drinker
Look, didn't mean to offend you...but a LOT of negativity around here(not talking about you)...especially considering how well the Hawks have been of late...considering it is a hangover season...Even during the streak last year, it's not like they played flawless hockey...Anyways no hard feelings....LET'S GO HAWKS!!!! I think we should be thankful watching this team win 2 Cups in the last 4 years....And as long as they are healthy, another Cup isn't out of the question in the next 3-4 years - captainserious
I totally agree with ur entire premise. We should all be thankful, and for the most part positive in assessing the team. They deserve the benefit of the doubt in most cases, like when u have a bad PP, bad PK, or no 2C, with this team u can kinda jus brush it aside and look at the overwhelming positives that surround that minor deficiency. Definitely no hard feelings at all. Id say another cup in the next 3-4 years is highly likely given whats in place, much less out of the question. We are the creme of the crop in the league. Lets enjoy it. |

Great article Al, thanks.
I agree about Shaw, with a combination of Handzus' return and Pirri faultering (if that happens) then Shaw could see time in the top 6. Handzus could centre the 4th line and Kruger the 3rd.
Edit: I think it could be possible for Shaw to get top 6 minutes even if Pirri doesn't faulter. - DarthKane
I love the kid, but he's no second line center. |

That is my undercover job at IHOP. Pancakes, french toast, waffles, any kind of eggs that you enjoy, plus the best bacon. All of this has earned Steen's trust and he talks to me about everything now. |

Yes, they would. And that is exactly where Halak and Steen are now. 2 of their most important pieces this year haven't been extended and are UFA. They just watched Pietrangelo have to sweat it out to get a payday commensurate with his production.
One or both walks unless management throws money at them during the year. Halak, in particular, may see huge offers this OS if he keeps it up. Look at the teams needing goalie help this year. - tredbrta
Reaching UFA status and leaving the team are different animals. As Carcus said, they may be fine with Halak leaving. It could also be true that Steen wants to stay and they want him. If so, there will be a deal. Predicting he'll leave at this point is guessing. |

Hawks PK issues...
Sooooo as far as I understand it PK is dependent on a scheme.
Anyone consider that maybe teams watched some vide of what made them successful last year and have adjusted their game plan accordingly? |

doubt it. The chemistry of Frolik and Kruger was very nice and overall team depth. One other observation from last year, that 4th line didn't see lots of action, thus Frolik and Kruger had lots more energy to kill penalties- and thus maybe more aggressive besides the chemistry. But pk will get better as Kruger seems to be improving in the dot. |

Fact is all teams have cap issues moving forward...er at least most of them. Things will get sorted out but St Louis sounds like they want to be contenders for awhile so I imagine they will be taking care of who they need to take care of. |

Sucks that he is going down, but Ian Cole is ready to play regularly. We will be fine.
If Petro or JBo get hurt, that would be trouble.
We have a couple of guys who are tweeners that are currently playing in Chicago ( still don't like the sound of that) that can come up and play limited minutes if needed and be fine as well. But Cole is good enough to be playing everyday, so not a big deal........for now.
Jani Hakanpaa looked really good in camp this year, Edmundson as well. Both are still young and will likely stay down. Chorney is a tweener that may get called up instead as he has played some NHL minutes and the extra would likely sit just about every night. |

Black is Schwarze - which has become a derogatory term for a black person (more like colored person than the "N" word).
Don't know list. |
