I agree its good to have depth at D but if Kostka gets healthy and they need to cap space Brookbank is the likely candidate to go. Package him for some picks that Bowman can then package for some bottom six depth. Based on what we've seen in the past SB does not like to trade anyone off the current roster....so it's unlikely....

This won't be the last time I say this...Once again to make a beneficial trade Bowman will have to give until it hurts.

That means young players that can play in the NHL on many/most teams and lower round draft picks.

As you mentioned win now teams don't give up assets that are useful to them today.

Do you think Bowman will make a splash this year? He usually likes to trade picks for depth guys.......you would have to think the FO wants that repeat title though....

Agreed...was thinking along the same lines. He didn't play much in the first and then in the third Q was just rolling.

The issue is there really isn't a whole lot to trade unless he gives up his recent 1st tier draft picks to get a very useful player.

Up until now two things standout....A Manny Moholtra type who can grind, kill penalties and win faceoffs

And...

A bona fide 2nd line center.....But I think unless he does really poorly Pirri is going to be given a long look.


If Pirri makes the grade and Kruger's FO win % goes into the 50%+ range consistently, maybe they stand pat.

Kruger was at 40% against Winnipeg after being above 60% two games in a row......it will be interesting to see how he does over a 10 game stretch. If he show's consistency it will be one less thing they have to worry about as the season moves along...
