Krugman over 60% at the dot...3rd time in 4 games he has done this.....if he keeps this up the end results will be huge. - UnnamedSource
I don't know about big offensive upside but it's definitely a part of the game he can work on and apparently has. He's a smart, instinctive player and if he adds solid face-off guy to his repertoire it can only be good for the Hawks. |

I don't know if its Brookbank or the hawks system but Brookbank really didn't look too out of place on the third line. Probably a little bit of both. I know we would get more out of Morin offensively though. - Walky
I don't know what Q is doing, but the Hawks gotta get Brookbank back on the blueline.
Has anyone heard an explanation for this bull? |

Agreed. one of the big reasons the PK has looked better. - Elbows15
Yep......and if he can keep it up you may not need to find a bottom six forward who's good at FO's...you can look to fill other needs. |

Steve Lyons did it for for White Sox in an exhibition game back in the 80's - ArlingtonRob
IIRC 4 players have officially done it- Campaneris, Scott Sheldon, Shane Halter, and Cesar ____ (can't remember the name) did it a few years after Campaneris. |

They had several good chances on Lehtonen. 10 SOG. Defensive, careful, yes, but not a complete shell. - StLBravesFan
Not saying they didn't have chances but it didn't look like they made much attempt at sustained offense. Saw one maybe two short O-zone possessions with the 1st line. Other than that, steal puck, shoot, retreat. Didn't seem much different than what we normally complain about, it just so happens it worked. |

On Wednesday after the game he said Brookbank has been playing well and deserved to play. blah blah blah. |

Nope. But a guess would be that either Morin is in Q's doghouse, or they're showcasing Brooks for possible trade deadline move.

Good for him too. Those plus an aversion to injury are the skills that translate to a long career, even if you move around a lot. |

Showcasing Brookbank by playing him at wing? That makes no sense. |

Hossa looks a lot like Hossa lately - CBHawks88
This is ALWAYS true when he's reasonably healthy. He had one pretty bad turnover at the blue line that I saw, which almost (but did not) lead to a score. He's only human. Otherwise, a great game.

I think they can fill their needs in house US. Q needs to give the kids a little rope. Oh, the 2C? Yeah, I don't think that will ever get fixed. |

How does playing him at wing make sense for any reason at all?
Maybe it's like one of those versatile utility infielders in baseball, they want to create the idea that Brookbank could provide depth in a variety of roles on the bottom lines, at least in an emergency.
It's just idle speculation, I don't know. But it is weird that he's playing wing.
