I call bullpoop. Thats the media justifying their hack job pieces on him. He's a young forward who has had no leadership and structure in his pro career. Thats an organizational problem.

Hard to argue.

A little scouting report of my own on Horak, if you'll oblige me:

Pros:
- Fluid skater with great acceleration and smooth crossovers
- Good one-on-one skills; fairly creative, but more of a playmaker
- Seems to have developed a reasonable defensive conscience over the past season or two

Cons:
- Can kinda be a puck-hog at times
- Gets out-muscled easily; lacks the drive to engage consistently
- Lost some of his offensive swagger after joining the pro ranks
- MaximumBone

As an Oiler fan I'd be a bit concerned about the fact that he couldn't crack Calgary's lineup. I know he's young, but still.

I think this Broisset kid is the one they really must've liked.

With any luck in 2/3 years time Pitlick and Khaira will be our Galliardi and Simmonds...

Edm has verbal agreement with Bryz. However they don't have cap space to sign him til Smid passes physical with Cgy to complete that trade.

This is typical. All the other fans that have been in here slamming Smid the past few year are now going on about him being our best DMan. Smid has been awful.

Getting rid of him for anything is a great deal. I didn't want him signed to that crappy new deal.

You left out upside and defense, while the pro of clearly having passion
great skater though which is typical of Slovaks hope he does well

you're understating simmonds when you label him as just a guy that can forecheck.

he's mean, he's big, he's strong. he'll drive to the net. he'll lay someone on the other team the fck out. he'll most likely net you 30 goals consistently. he's a great player and i can't imagine why any fan wouldn't want him on their team.

if you don't want to deal yakupov for him, i understand. but i don't see any reason why you wouldn't want simmonds on your team. especially with what the current makeup of the oilers is.
