I like the trade and dont like the trade, now I like the trade because the Oil gets a goalie with high potential to be that number one, I follow his play while playing for the Oil kings and he was spectacular, trust me guys MacT knows He got his goalie that he wanted, Bryz signing is just to give Dubnyk back his backup job and take some pressure away from him, now I dont like the trade because is with Calgary and is going to be strange seen Smid wearing a Flame jersey,MacT didnt like Smid and dont trust Dubnyk, this deal and signing of Briz is a message to all the fans that though that Dubnyk was the real deal, I will say this knowing that I might get blasted by some Flames fans and Oil fans, the Oil to me got the better Goalie from all the Flames Goalies.

I remember reading it in the journal and some other internet blogs(couple years back or longer),there was always a dislike from MacT about Smid way of play,btw I did say few days back when all the Yaks rumors were happening that MacT would not trade him but He was looking to make a trade using Hemsky,Nick Shultz and Smid as trade bait,MacT move trading Smid didn't surprise me the only part that did surprise me was that He trade it Smid to the Flames,but I'm happy the Oil got the Goalie Brossoit from Calgary.

I've never thought Smid was very good. Stands still too much and rely's on his series of little cross checks to try to move guys.
