He was good enough last year. I don't think anyone outside of your Vezina dudes would've had much better numbers behind the Oilers.

Yup, I think it s more of Smid not fitting into Eakins "system" than Smid regressing at 27. Oilers sold low IMO.

We signed ference to a multi year, whick kinda made his multi year excessive. Nit to mention he's been very poor thus far.

I'm not sure how much lower it really gets than a prospect goaltender (regardless of how good he may be, established guys draw Richard all in a trade) and a guy who isn't good enough to be a centre on Calgary. Let that sink in.

I'd say sold a bit low, a #4 d-man at his salary is probably just going to get you a pick and prospect or two prospects. I don't really get the move though, neither young player seems too exciting to me. I think trading him for a another defensman or a gritty forward that can help now(non-rental) would have made sense.

But for those saying he's way overpaid, the cap will go up during the next few year.

No idea. (frank)ing guys on tsn are talking like Bryz has been the worst goalie NHL. He had bad seasons in Philly where every goalie does, maybe it's not the goalie but the poop team snider tries to build. If Oilers upgrade the d and have Bryz they will be hell of a lot better than they have been.

Thats absurd considering Bryz's alternatives were 1) Not playing or 2) Making 350 bucks a week playing in the ECHL.

Been there, done that. Its fun, but probably not if you're used to first class travel and world class facilities.
