Curious, how many full games have you seen both play recently? Simmonds is the better player right now, but you can't deny Kassian's skill. He has some soft hands and is an underrated passer(his stat line is hilarious since he actually needs to be shooting more and is a willing/good passer). He looks better under Torts and is only 22.

i've seen simmer play 4-5 games this season and kassian play 2 i think, but i wasn't really paying attention to him during those games to be honest.

A guy who can score 15-20, is big/physical and can fight is pretty damn valuable. I didn't like the trade and still don't, but this year he's making me hate it a little less.

You don't have a clue.

Simmonds has more energy, better finisher right now, Kassian is a much better passer and puck handler. I'd still take Simmonds, but Kassian is 3 years younger at 22 so that's a tough comparison.

True, i'd give Simmonds the upper hand at the moment, mind you Kass has 4 goals in in 13 games where as Simmonds has 1 in 15, not to mention Simmonds having a much larger role on his team

He's a decent player who is still working at putting it all together.

He looks much improved this year. He's an awkward skater but still has decent enough speed and has way better vision and hands than he's given credit for.

He gets caught in a tough spot with coaches a bit though. You bring in a guy like him to scare the pee out of dmen on the forecheck but at the first boarding penalty he gets benched for 12 games. Blows one defensive assignment in 6 games, gets moved from the top line to 4th line left wing, where he then gets criticized for not contributing.

Makes sense Vig.

Torts is whipping him into shape though and seems to trust him more with minutes in the third period. There is a lot more balance to his TOI per period than last season.
