By FAR??? thats laughable

Eberle Hall
13/14= 13pts -3 13/14= 9pts -7
12/13= 37pts -4 12/13= 50pts +5
11-12= 76pts +4 11-12= 53pts -3
10/11= 43 pts -12 10/11= 42 pts -9

My point is statistically Eberle is obviously the winner... last year was an off year for eberle otherwise the gap likely would not have been that close... Eberle makes plays and rarely do the plays fall off from his stick... He makes players around him better where Hall is more individual and stands out alone- hence the 2 breakaways last night... everyone has an opinion- just mine is on team Eberle...

- saskoil21

Not about points. It's about the ability to control a game. Hall can and does carry a line. When you carry the puck as much as Hall does, you're going to turnover the puck a good deal more than most players.

I've already considered keeping him over Gagner.. wayyyy better at faceoffs, just as good offensively, way better defensively, more physical. He's the smallest guy on our team and leads our team's forwards in hits, second in points... I'm ok with trading Gags and giving 2C to arco... But that's just me

Fixed.

Do you even watch the Oilers? Hall is BY FAR better than Eberle. I like how you quoted scoring stats but excluded the PPG average. if you don't think Hall is better than Eberle you need to start cheering for another team because you know (frank) all about the Oilers. Absolutely nobody drives the play on our team like Hall, absolutely nobody controls the play and almost always is involved in scoring chances on almost every shift like Hall. It's stupid to even try and compare the 2.

Would you guys consider Dubinsky for Gagner if it were to be offered? I'd take it.

first game back I thought Gagner had turned a corner with the FOs, he was 5/7 or something like that.

so u just went the opposite homer it seems.
eberle is not worth Giroux straight up.
but ur crazy if u think one of and 'extra' d and a throw in for ebs is fair value.

one or more of these names will be involved in any deal for ebs. Simmonds, Coburn, couturier, b schenn. maybe two of them with a salary add from edm.
none of them are worth ebs straight up

Sorry if Eberle is getting moved because they don't want to move Hall, Hopkins or Yak. If you have 3 superstars on your team you can't trade and aren't winning... maybe there is a reason you are trading someone.

Eberle for Simmonds, Coburn, Schenn (either) is probably doable. But Giroux, while he is currently struggling, has already proven himself an elite player in this league.

Then follows that up with 9% and 23% on the dot against Detroit and Florida respectively and crushes our dreams...

I doubt Eberle is getting traded, Philly doesn't have what we need unless its to acquire a player we need in a bigger trade. This team is hurting so of course were involved in every trade rumour.

One big problem is how soft we are with the puck in are own zone, if Eberle had any heart or care he could have easily stopped Stamkos coming around the net but he skates to the net like he is dragging john scott behind him. Same with yakupov trying to take it up the middle of the ice then bailing to avoid a hit and bang easy goal for the best goal scorer in the league.

Defense needs to improve and goaltending too but not until the skilled forwards start taking hits and quit making soft plays will this team improve. Hockey is 60mins and a 200 ft game, we are playing 30mins and 100ft of most games which isn't enough.

Frank our luck.

Joensuu agreed, well placed hits, was around the puck, good positioning - move well, a good shot. Injured.

Even Pitlick brought some much needed jam. Injured.

Going forward, Pitlick looks like perfect fourth line material.

- Salvo

whatever we do, IMO we need a stud winger on each of the top 2 lines. Too many guys taking cheap shots at Nuge & Hall plus we need a bigger body to dig pucks out of the corners and stand in front of the net on both lines.

This may seem weak but that cage can really effect your game I think. Plus he's probably already playing a little gingerly, the whole thing has to feel pretty weird.

I wouldn't say THAT high if you pick the right combination of players. Assuming each player continues to play like they have so far

Kulemin for $2-2.5 mill
Moss for $1.5-2 mill
Boyle for $1.5-1.75 mill
Vitale for $900k (possibly two-way)

Orpik for $4-4.5 mill

Hiller for $4-4.5 mill
Greiss for $1-1.5 mill

Petry resigned for $4-4.5 mill
J Schultz resigned for $2-2.5 mill (bridge deal)
Larsen, Jones, Bachman on 2-way deals

Let Hemsky, N Schultz, Dubnyk, and Labackup walk, and Smyth retires.

Don't know what would happen to Arco (I'd like to keep him) and Belov, though.

- MaximumBone

If Kulemin was going to sign for that, he'd be signing with the Leafs.

Also, how many teams have you seen recently that made that many off-season signings?

Word. I think we'd be ecstatic with one. A Perron, Gordon, _____ third line as well.

If/ when/ ffs we get to the playoffs in a year or two. Hall will be a beast. He'll have to keep it in check - but I just think he'll hurt people.

I do watch the Oilers- since the 80s which likely doesnt matter- but I appreciate players that are hockey smart, consistent and clutch... Hall IMO is lightnight fast, hockey dumb and oft injured and great players on the IR all the time do little for a team in the long run and that PPG BULLpoop quickly runs its course when as the player ages and continues to get hurt- before long you end up being like Hemsky in the long run... Hey I dont care- you definitely dont have to agree with it... In the end Leftcoaster is likely right in that if Nuge remains healthy and continues his play he will be the best player in the end and most valuable out of all anyway...
