Sorry to reply again, but upon looking at the FA list for this offseason, a few players come to mind.

Hall- Gagner- Yakupov
Kulemin/Michalek- Nuge- Eberle
Perron- Gordon- Moss/Ott
Vitale- Boyle/Goc- Jones

Orpik/Girardi- Schultz
Nurse- Petry
Ference- Larsen

Hiller/Halak
Greiss

The cap would need to be about 70 million, but I don't know how that doesn't get you to the playoffs.

Could help if this team would win games, no one is untouchable at this point..
Oilers management won't do a thing they dont have to balls for a big trade.

- The_Hinter

We can fault them for it all we want and I guess we should but I think Mac-T does have the stomach for it.

Mitigating factors and probably the most important being the deal they want isn't there yet.

Another being they still have yet to ice a healthy roster.

Sure the Oilers could turn Eberle into Giroux. They just have to include Hall and Schultz.
Given Giroux's awful year, when he's on (which he hasn't been), he's a point-per-game player and one of the top-5 forwards in the league. The problem is, for the past 30 games or so, he hasn't been on. That said, the Flyers would be foolish to make a 1-for-1 trade, or even Eberle+random assets trade, and I'm a big Eberle fan.

Already worth more than Giroux

Eberle makes players around him better... He is our best winger- he has the smarts and skill as well as stats to prove it... Last year he was near the top in scoring and he played most season with an injured hand FFS... He does not have the speed of Hall nor the flash of 1st overall but until proven otherwise he is our best player...
- saskoil21

Hall > Eberle... By far, no comparison what so ever... Everyone's raging hard on for Eberle is a little ridiculous, yea he has a sick toe drag for sure, but now everyone is onto him and he can't do poop out there. how many times has he been laid out so far this year trying to toe drag? I like Eberle too, but he's not the best winger on our team.

If you guys had to pick only 1 player to keep, would it be Hall or Eberle? I know Hall's more a Toews molded guy, but I think Eberle has a better offensive game. I know it sounds crazy, but he's a treat to watch.

If we can roll three lines with that much talent and having the players who aren't afraid to get dirty are kinda what we need. If we had everyone or half the guys playing like Perron itd throw people off their game.

Hall gagner and yak can provide the grit to at least stand up for themselves so I'll give them a pass.

Nuge and Eberle creed the bigger presence who as bad as this sounds fights their battles for them. Joensuu did take a run at buff who was taking liberties with ebs so thats a positive sign

Perron right now is our equivalent to brad Marchand. He is our pest not as good as marchand in that regard but who is? brad is faster too, but Perron arguably has the skill advantage.

We have the right pieces, but it'd be nice to see the actual healthy line up play and then see how bad we are before we sell the farm imo

- CrustyRooster

Frank our luck.

Joensuu agreed, well placed hits, was around the puck, good positioning - move well, a good shot. Injured.

Even Pitlick brought some much needed jam. Injured.

Going forward, Pitlick looks like perfect fourth line material.

Hall would be destroy if Eberle gets trade it away, but reality is if MacT wants to make and received Big time return in a trade then Eberle would be the one right now to bring that, but I don't think MacT is making any trades like that yet this season,I think any big trades will happen when the season is done or draft day,I believe MacT is just trying to work trades involving Hemsky, prospects and picks.

based on what stats??? he had a good rookie campaign and we dont know how he finishes the year... Eberle is proven... until some other proves otherwise it remains to be seen
- saskoil21

How is his ugly give away yesterday for "prove otherwise", he dangles around too much, he abuses of the toe drag (have seen it work once) and even though very good, we have a lot of what he brings to the table. Yes, let's absolutely trade him or Gagner or Yaks or Hemmer, it does not have to be the worse one but the one that brings us back what we need.

About Nuge..... between him and Hall you build a franchise. RNH does a lot on the defensive end and he is the most skilled one of all of the forwards in the oil. Hall is a force. Plus they both have the 1st overall pedigree, I am not saying they are untouchable but the return would need to be massive. Ebs on the other end, if he lands us a couple of good players, I was saying for example Girardi and the big winger from NY (dont remember his name, starts with an H) that is a good trade in my books.

I wouldn't say THAT high if you pick the right combination of players. Assuming each player continues to play like they have so far

Kulemin for $2-2.5 mill
Moss for $1.5-2 mill
Boyle for $1.5-1.75 mill
Vitale for $900k (possibly two-way)

Orpik for $4-4.5 mill

Hiller for $4-4.5 mill
Greiss for $1-1.5 mill

Petry resigned for $4-4.5 mill
J Schultz resigned for $2-2.5 mill (bridge deal)
Larsen, Jones, Bachman on 2-way deals

Let Hemsky, N Schultz, Dubnyk, and Labackup walk, and Smyth retires.

Don't know what would happen to Arco (I'd like to keep him) and Belov, though.

Well, you know they are different players, but if I had to chose, we'd keep Hall.

Maybe you trade Arco for one of these guys in a deadline deal. You might need to get started negotiating early for a guy like Kuli that people might overpay for.

Giroux is a force to be reckoned... Don't think of this as a great trade because we need D and goalie, not a forward, but hey, a trade like this can shake things up. I also think Giroux is a more complete player and he plays with an edge. Ebs is great but we heve too much of that.
Do it mact! I order my Giroux jersey tomorrow!

Hold on .... Maybe the oilers are asking philly to take it easy on dubey tomorrow!!!!

I would trade 1.5 Eberles for one Hall.
I would totally keep Hall. Not even a fair question.

Eberle has had one 20+ goal season, yes I know last year pro-rated he would have had another one. RNH has one less point that Eberle this year and he's better defensively IMO. I believe Ryan is the best player on the Oilers, don't get me wrong, Eberle is tremendously skilled, but he's a soft small player which Edmonton has plenty of.
- LeftCoaster

I agree, RNH is slightly the best player on our team currently, and I think he will noticeably be the best on the team very shortly. His 2way game is better than any other offensive oiler.

Or Gagner Sorry, I know that Gags is more proven, but I hate that he never improves his faceoffs. If Arco keeps this production up throughout the season (say he hits 50), do you consider keeping him over Gags? This is assuming that Gags would ever void his NTC.

By FAR??? thats laughable

Eberle Hall
13/14= 13pts -3 13/14= 9pts -7
12/13= 37pts -4 12/13= 50pts +5
11-12= 76pts +4 11-12= 53pts -3
10/11= 43 pts -12 10/11= 42 pts -9

My point is statistically Eberle is obviously the winner... last year was an off year for eberle otherwise the gap likely would not have been that close... Eberle makes plays and rarely do the plays fall off from his stick... He makes players around him better where Hall is more individual and stands out alone- hence the 2 breakaways last night... everyone has an opinion- just mine is on team Eberle...

I've already considered keeping him over Gagner.. wayyyy better at faceoffs, just as good offensively, way better defensively, more physical. He's the smallest guy on our team and leads our team in hits, second in points... I'm ok with trading Gags and giving 2C to arco... But that's just me
