I just have a hard time believing that Brossoit's value was high enough that it cost Smid, 17 games ago was a very solid and steady defenceman for 2 years.

Yeah Bryzgalov. Because the Oilers had to free up cap space. When they had a bunch. Or maybe they had to free up dollars because Katz is worried that the morons he hired to run the team will run it into the ground like they did 5 years ago.

Honestly, its probably a shake up move. Like "WAKE THE (frank) UP" because there is no way that Bryzgalov is a more valuable long term piece to this team than Smid and Brossoit is like 3 years away.

The Oilers are absolute garbage defensively. It only make sense for them to trade their best defenseman.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way, I felt like I was taking crazy pills the last few years with everyone being in love with Smid. I never really liked him.
