The oilers blue line is the real concern here. Yeah we need a Shea weber, but the only chance we have at that is to stand pat and hope nurse is the answer. In the meantime the oil have a pretty good selection of d prospects not named nurse or klefbom.

I think this year it's been clear that the oilers can't win with nick Schultz and ladislav smid. Smid has put everything he's had into the oilers, but he just seems out of place to me. I'm not sure what his value is to other teams, but I think he could fetch a decent return if packaged with the right pick or prospect. Same goes for Hemsky.

Flyers fans have been in this thread quite a bit, do you guys think smid could be serviceable to this teams blue line for years to come? Pretty steady stay at home guy.

Maybe trade smid for a forward and then Hemsky for a dman witha higher ability than smid?
