The Habs are not cup contender this year so the goal this season should be making the playoffs. And with that mind, I rather see them miss the playoffs as I believe the best team should make the cut.

I rather look at Bergevin time as GM and evaluate some decision in his tenure.

- 2012 1st round pick Glachenyuk = [+1]
- Prust signature =[+1]
- Gomez buy out = [+1], no brainer
- PK's 2 yrs deal at discount = [TBD, now Norris trophy he will hit a jackpot]
- Cole for Ryder = [+1]
- Desharnais 4 yrs deal/3.5M = [-1]
- Kaberle buy out = [+1], no brainer
- 2013 Draftpicks = [-1], with so many picks, Habs should of been able to draft higher in the first round
- Stephane Waite = [+1]
- Briere signature = [-1]
- Parros signature = TBD
- Murray signature = [-1]

I may have forgot a few things but these are the headlines that comes to mind and gives Bergevin [+2] overall with 2 TBD and 2 no brainers...

Is Bergevin vision will bring the Habs to become an elite team soon enough? I am not 100% sold on that!

Parros gets a plus, and Murray gets a minus? Please forward your grading system parameters.

to be fair, i don't think he ever had any intention of this team being competitive for 3-4 years. when i say competitive, i mean clear top 10 team, not playoff bubble team.

He is banking on the development of high end prospects getting better.(i.e. First round picks not becoming depth players) That's why he took a risk on the injured Glachenyuk and the not ranked so high McCarron (when a Zykov was still on board). So, really, until we get to see what that player personnel team can do with McCarron and other picks from 2012 onwards, it'll be almost impossible to truly judge his "system".

The idea is keeping the team "afloat" some more until he can get those players up and running. The major flaw in the system is that last years addition was supposed to be learning and not necessarily succeeding, imo. Another tank year (getting Galchenyuk a top line partner) and then being able to draft McCarron in the second would have gone a long way in helping the draft model plan, unfortunately.

I have never seen a player wind up as hard as PK does for his shot.

He's like John Daly with that windup.

The only good thing for the goalie is no forward or defenseman wants to get anywhere near it.

So what can we do with DD?
At 3.5M/yrs for 4 years, he has no value on the market.

Send him to Hamilton next year if he has no value in Montreal. Buy him out after that. 4 years @ 1.75M for the buy-out... (roughly, I don't know all the exact details but you get the idea)

I don't understand why, front of the net is the safest place when he shoots.
