it's pretty incredible
thank goodness those of us who were the most negative were dead wrong, Love being wrong like that - jimbro83
When being negative about the Rangers I always hope to be dead wrong.
Fewer things I enjoy seeing than the NY Rangers winning, repeatedly. |

Told today Flyers are talking with EDM about Eberle
edit: maybe that means we have been talking Eberle too? - jimbro83
Flyers are in full panic mode...which is absolutely awesome and hilarious to see. |

what about Eberle to the Flyers for both Schenn's? - jimbro83
Personally, I don't think the Edmonton front office has a clue as to what it wants, or needs to do at this point. Just too much cannon fodder. |

Unless it's for Giroux, I wouldn't wanna move Eberle to the Flyers if I'm Edmonton and as others have mentioned Giroux doesn't solve their problems which are goalie and defense. |

every time holmgren makes a trade, the flyers get worse. it's really great. started with the richards and carter trades (the return was good on paper, but the team was NOWHERE near as good as it used to be prior to those deals and that's a fact) and it's been getting progressively worse and worse. |

Oilers are in a state of flux. Many pundits thought this was the year they would finally get over the hump and make the playoffs.
They are in worse shape than ever. |

not sure that would be enough. honestly, i'm not too big on the schenns, especially Luke. i've thought they've been overhyped for a while. and not those 2 straight up for eberle.
from the flyers, i see edmonton wanting a guy like simmonds, a defenseman like coburn or maybe luke schenn, but then philly would have to include more. eberle is fcking sick. - rangerdanger94
Oilers have all these fcking sick players, and yet they suck

You have to see how many Flyers fans are coming up with goofy trade proposals for Eberle.
I saw one that had Coburn and Schenn for Eberle. I guess a lot of these people have their brain clouded with bong residue and malted hops. |

it's simple: too top-heavy, too many of the same type of players, no intangibles or character guys. combine that with a lot of youth, bad goaltending, and spotty defense and you have a recipe for disaster.
it's funny because it seems like most oilers fans want to trade yakupov for another player just like yakupov and refuse to consider a package deal for depth and grit like the gaborik deal we made thinking it would solve their problems. you give the oilers simmonds, you give them a top 3 defender that can log 20 mins a game, and you have them a decent goalie, and they'll start winning more games. then you sign a couple more gritty guys and 1 more defender and you have a championship roster. |

That June 2011 Richards deal was heinous. Many Flyers fans thought their team won that trade hands down.
June 2012, Richards helps the Kings win their first Stanley Cup.
The Carter deal was alright, I felt. Voracek has a world of talent but Carter has flourished with the Kings since being sent there from Columbus. |

It is really strange. They have all of these Top draft picks in the lineup, that should at this point starting coming into their own, and they are still terrible. The problems are obvious in that they don't have much veteran leadership, and they are not a particularly well balanced team, but I'm not sure what I do to correct that, if anything, this year if I were them.
They killed for taking a status quo, let the kid's develop approach, but perhaps they should give it this year to see if that starts to happen, and then try to balance out their team in free agency, unless they can make a real good deal for one of their stud (or supposedly) young players. If I were them, I certaintly would take a crap deal for Yakupov just because he sucks right now (because as we all know that can change).

How come we haven't heard anything from the NHL about the Tutyin hit on Pyatt? It was def an elbow to the head, and now a player is injured, most likely concussed. Im the first to admit to wanting Pyatt out of the line up, but not that way. |

Hahaha, or the fans watching from home, hearing Jim Jackson announce the winner of their case of Tasty Cakes giveaway, with each Flyer goal scored.
That announcement hasn't happened too many times this year, but I digress. |

Shanahan is too busy basking in the Hockey Hall of Fame festivities, as he is headed to the Hall, this Monday night.
All kidding aside, I think they announce a suspension or fine for Tyutin sometime later today.
Nobody wants to see someone ruined by concussions no matter, how badly, Pyatt was disliked by the legions of Rangers fans. |

carter doesn't get enough love. this dude is a pure goal scorer and he just buries the puck like crazy.
voracek is a great player and a 20 goal scorer but that was when giroux was playing all-world and setting him up. carter can net 40 on his own.
carter has averaged 33 goals a season throughout his career, and that's including the year or 2 where he was a rookie or had bad seasons. |

unless they drugged the Oilers front office coburn and schenn are not getting them anything close to Eberle...
Giroux, or package built around Philly's 1st rounder and Simmonds maybe has a chance. |

Carter and Richards like to party too much, and apparently Holmgren thought it was necessary to change the culture there, despite the successes that they had with those guys on the team. But, at the end of the day, a professional hockey team is not a sunday school choir, and they lost an edge when they traded those guys. They simply haven't been the same since. |

I say that cause on the NHL page, that guy from Florida is already having a meeting with the league about his hit last night and nothing mentioned about Tyutin.
I don't really dislike Pyatt, good role player, just think we have better and younger options.... Haley, Powe or Mashinter. Hell I would have preferred Asham. |

the way i see it is they traded their 2 best players for a bunch of depth. that's like if we traded nash and gaborik for a bunch of depth players. yes we have the depth, but we don't have any gamebreakers. it's a lot easier to get those depth players than it is to replace those gamebreakers.
obviously, giroux emerged and voracek ain't so bad either, but richards and carter were never really replaced. |

If it is Eberle going to the Flyers, if it's not a package centered around Simmonds+ or Couturier, a 2014 first round pick+, the Oilers are out of their minds.
Giroux is not getting dealt, I just can't see that happening, at all. |

I read on twitter there was no mention of the hit on the NHL's morning report that they released. Only hit that was up for suspension was the Florida player you mentioned. I have no idea why, elbow to the head, should at least be reviewed. |
