yak is brutal right now, but i think the management realizes it might just be a sophmore slump and they'll wait it out and make a decision as late as next season.

at this point, i wouldn't be surprised if yak is an oiler, a ranger, or a flyer.

- rangerdanger94

I sure hope so, he just isn't getting the chance hall, RNH, eberle got, he needs to go for the sake of the oilers and himself

I watched a lot of that Oiler Flyer game yesterday.

Yakupov literally looked like he had no idea what he was doing out there. Tried some fancy stick handling moves, but as far as a team concept, I don't think he has a clue at the moment.

He needs some serious coaching and some intelligent veterans on the team showing him the way.

Both things we have here in New York

I think he would turn it around real quick here. I'm only worried about how many key pieces we would be giving away to get him, but right now with each passing game his value is going down.

I noticed the same thing, he's languishing on the 3rd line. He got 10 minutes ice, and 1 minute on he PP. Eakins looks just as lost, if there ever was a young player who needed a change of scenery it's Yak. But I have the feeling the Edmonton brass is just as lost as their on ice product.

I think I have changed my mind from before, no longer would I be willing to include Chris Kreider in the package, I think the Oilers have missed their opportunity.

one thing the Oilers do, besides over pay all their young guys way too soon, is give them all a comfortable feeling. Those kids are constantly hearing that they are all untouchable, will never be traded and they all make 6 million a year by the time they are 20 years old.

There is no hunger there, they are already set for life.

The Oilers from the glory years weren't making big bucks at the age of 20 I guarantee you that. Glen made them scrounge for every last nickel.

Absolutely, the greatest salary cap the league ever had was when Gretzky was an Oiler. Once he was traded the flood gates opened.

If the cap keeps going up, the Rangers might be able to keep Richards on board. Although I want to see how the rest of the season goes prior. Richards does only have 1 goal in his last 11 games.
- TPC

He is at least getting quality chances. He was robbed on two excellent chances I believe by Bob the other night. He's moving his feet and is making some plays.

According to Katie Strang and Steve Zipay, Rick Nash is not skating this morning at the Rangers morning skate.

Zipay adds that Dominic Moore is not skating either but that the Rangers have all 12 forwards, 7 defense and 2 goalies on the ice.

It isn’t yet known if Nash skated earlier or if he will skate after the morning skate.

Honestly, whether it was the pressure of failure that has already built up this season or not, there seemed to be nothing with regards to team play or puck support. Most of the Oilers possession of the puck ended with one player trying to break down the defense via his skating and/or stickhandling. In all three zones it didn't seem that anyone knew instinctively where there teammates would be and tried to force something to happen; often that didn't work out for them. I'm not sure if it's bad coaching or whether they just haven't properly worked it out yet but the Oilers don't play like a team right now and this season could get uglier before it gets better.

Excellent news that he is skating on back-to-back days. Obviously he didn't suffer any sort of setback from working out yesterday. If this keeps up it's really a matter of getting back into game shape. Maybe another week or two if we are lucky.

I was kind of thinking December 1st. maybe even the day after thanksgiving, but going into Boston as his first game with that bastard Lucic running around probably isn't best idea

I think we should continue to hope for the best, but expect a setback or two with Nash. At least he's starting to skate on a daily basis, I think the best we could hope for would be sometime around the 1st part of December, but if is a couple of weeks later it will be a great Christmas present.

That's why the longer the Oilers and Rangers wait on this the worst it gets. Yakupov is learning that no matter what he does he'll be on the 3rd line and no one will discipline him when he turns the puck over.

Maybe because Florida has some tough guys, otherwise Mash is a waste, little game besides the fisticuffs.

he's not very experienced, so i think we have yet to see what he really offers.

he's come close to scoring a few times and looks like he can actually play a little hockey and wants to instead of just looking to fight every time he's on the ice. from what it sounds like, he's working really hard in practice to get better too.

he just needs some.....confidence

Maybe, I just don't like what I've seen in limited action. Better than Pyatt.

I still can't understand why Haley doesn't get a shot. He makes pennies on the dollar. Plus we've all seen he can fight and be a huge PIA to other teams.

I like Haley too. His problem is not energy or toughness but discipline. I thought last yr in small samples he was pretty good for his role & for the most part stayed out of the box.

Thomas played yesterday and after the groin problem he's had this year I woulld guess that panthers play Clemmenson.
