Reluctantly agree but that NMC is a hindrance. So is his inability to actually do very much on the ice.

A pall's been cast over Flyer Nation!
That rotten stench of desperation!
Trade the Schenns, strip the C!
We'd be far better off with Zarley Zalapski!

No goals, no hustle, no heart on their sleeve!
This soulless display will never reprieve!
Suggestions abound to get them on track!
Firesales, Byfuglien, call-ups, THE YAK!

But now the news is Jordan Eberle!
(I'm far too speechless to respond cleverly!)
Once again we knee-jerk react!
This team's never hired a sensible didact!

For once, my wish, is to let it ride,
Their struggle is more than a typical snide,
Hush the vehemence that's constantly shrilled,
And consider the wisdom: You never go full rebuild.

I'd be willing to give up B Schenn, Hartnell, and Grossmann.

My wife and I have been playing Borderlands (1). I got her into the Fallout series (3, New Vegas) when we started dating and now she wants to try something else. I just walk nearby with my level 49 soldier and pick off anyone that gets too close (she's 21st level).

I tried to get my wife to play COD but she just ran aorund with the gun ointed int he air....she played a little diablo 3, but thats about it...video games arent for her.

Before the baby i only played COD and warcraft.... now im lucky if i can watch a game without having to flip to the bubble guppies to soothe the baby lol .... last nights bubble guppies were far more entertaining by the way

Yes, that actually does. I definitely agree that it could be possible that a few of those younger players might not actually be able to consistently put up their prior goal totals. I would just find it really surprising if a few of those players who all had similar success one year, just lost it for good shortly after. But hey, stranger things have happened. But certainly, what we are seeing is probably a combination of what you mentioned as well as other factors.

To be clear, I'm all for making moves to try and make the team better. I am not the type to throw a fit when a trade is made because like many others have also mentioned, I want to see how it pans out before making a strong opinion.

And I'd also like to point out that I by no means think this team has the offensive skill to make a playoff run, if even make the playoffs at all. But the Flyers current struggling offense at the moment is more than alarming. I just think it has more to do with forward players and their inconsistencies, but like I said, I agree that could be a significant part of it

Hey, thanks for the response -- I know it takes a bit of time to write them. I appreciate the debate, and it helps me to understand what you are thinking, as well.

It's fine to pick and choose who you want to go but it's far from realistic.
- mayorofangrytown

It's easier picking who you DON'T want to go.

Why not?
Whats to say they don't win another 5 meaningless games at the end of this season and drop their position.
If you can package that for a young player like Eberle, Yakupov, insert someone else then Im all for it.

What you can't move draft picks for is someone over 30...no thanks..

- opeth_pa

Because you need to have the means to continue to draft and bring players in. I am so sick of trading draft picks.

Conversely, my wife won't try tabletop RPG's. I did get her to read the Doctor Who RPG (one of her favorite shows) a year ago when power went out, but power came on when we were about to create her character.

For sure! I think most of us would prefer to keep the discussion constructive since we're already too pissed off about this team

Very cool! Yeah pretty much any game we play together we gear to make sure we can do all the content together or add people as needed....

Funny you should say that. During the 2006/07 season it was quite chummy in here by December 1. Weird, eh?

I can't wait for her to catch up in level. Then, after she's had enough of B1, we'll move onto Borderlands 2. I got that at Gamestop last month for cheap during the buy 2 used games, get 1 free deal.

I get that but , hypothetically speaking of course, their is a big difference in acquiring an Eberle/Yakupov ( a few years at most removed from being a pick) to trading those same picks for a player like Pronger.

I am 100% against trading those picks for an older player , times are different then when they made the move for Pronger.

I would be for moving picks for a player that is 1 or 2 years removed from the draft.

So people want to trade 2 or 3 roster players and maybe a pick or prospect for 1 player? How in the world is 1 player going to come in here and fix this offensive mess? I don't think Gretzky alone in his prime could fix this. It's not going to be fixed by one single player. This is a collective mess were in, I believe also the kids we thought were going to come up and be productive and had skill in the front offices' minds were highly over rated.

Also in Garth's blog anyone see how he states the flyers goaltending is a joke?? Brutal brutal Our goaltending has been outstanding imho
