I'm going to tomorrows game if for no other reason then to chant "we want yakupov". Heck Tickets were 24 bucks a piece last night before the game.... probally cheaper after last night...lol.

The goal of every hockey team is to win a Stanley Cup. I doubt many players or fans go, "Well, we lost, but at least we were exciting."

No one will hear you over the "Fire Holmgren" chant which will, no doubt, start around the 2nd period if they are losing.

Call up the Phantoms and sit the Flyers. Lose 7-0 instead of 3-0. Destroy any/all confidence in AHL team by placing all young players in positions to fail. Solid plan.
- jmatchett383

the Flyers have already lost 7-0 and last night if it was almost any other team besides the Devils it would have been 7-0 again.

I was just saying there have been FAR WORSE players than Meyer. Tibbets is the lock (to me) for worst.
- jmatchett383

Fair enough. Although his 70 pims in 9 games was probably more impactful that anything rathje ever did here.

you know who hasn't done that? Crosby. Yes, he is the enemy so i can't stand him but I greatly appreciate the great player he is and beyond that, the fact the guy works his tail off every game. Ugh I feel like I need to take a shower now.

Hossa is another.
Datsyuk's been ruined by his last one.
Ovechkin's awful.

And had the Phantoms played Washington, they'd have lost 19-0.

Yes, you're right. I'm sure the 2010 Flyers were really happy because they were fun to watch. Who needs that Cup? They should have been celebrating on the ice after Game 6 because it was fun to watch. I know I couldn't keep the smile off my face watching Toews hoist the Cup on Flyers' ice.

If I was confident in the GM not to trade away picks and to guild this team the right way I would be just fine with losing for 2-3 years to build this back up and believe me, as a lonnnnnggg time fan, its hard to keep seeing other teams win and dying to see a cup here. I want this done the right way. Yes, its Nov and I am thinking trade deadline and that is SAD but I really don't see this group turning things around. I could be wrong and I hope I am but I am losing faith. I don't get how they can play like they did in the first period and a half against a very good ducks team then look as inept as they have since. It boggles my mind

I would take whatever I could get for every UFA. Maybe keep Downie if you can get something for Simmonds or Hartnell (not that I remotely think that can happen). I would think knowing Timonen is probably playing his last season, he would be willing to waive at the deadline to get that last shot at a cup and I hope he gets it. its too soon to call guys up now as you still have to try to win but by March i want to get a look see at some of the Phantoms. I'd call McGinn up now and just let the kid play even if its on the 4th line. God I'd love to see a 4th line with the likes of a healthy wellwood centering Raffl or Mcginn and Rinaldo.

I am so frustrated with this team. I won't stop watching but I am becoming numb to the losses and that in itself says a lot.

I like what you're saying here. It's just hard to think of watching this for 2-3 more years. I could be ok with the team not winning if they showed they cared and were putting in an effort. This team seems to do neither.

I'm still watching but I find myself using the DVR and watching the game on fast forward. That way I waste less time and get to be angry faster. This team makes it impossible to watch a whole game and that is sad. I wish this team would show more respect for the Flyers logo.

I think it's been something like 8 straight periods where the Flyers have failed to score a goal on home ice. I feel for the Season Ticket holders. I had season tickets in 2001 and they weren't cheap then.

My seats are ~$1700 a piece. I will not be renewing. Last night confirmed that.

Surprised Snider didnt have the league install a new clause where each team can move 2 players anywhere even with NMC's Its not even being a horrible team that bothers me, its that were (technically) miles over the cap and have an overpaid defense with nothing to show for it

The Flyers have already set one coaching change record, why not 2? On the plus side Berube has a multiyear contract although 12 games with this team probably feels like 12 years.

I'm still astounded that people think throwing a bunch of young kids into a fire like this is a good idea. They will get crushed, along with their confidence. 1-2 players at a time is one thing. If you have injuries, you have no choice. But icing an AHL team over any period at all will make the present and future worse.
