That's tempting
- Reveen

i don't think sather does that. that deal decimates our depth similar to how the nash trade decimated our depth. that loss of depth led to a very mediocre season.

as much as people rip on sather, he isn't that much of an idiot to make the same msitake twice within 2 years.

And that gentlemen, is the difference between good goaltending and below average goaltending.

- BigDre

well, it doesn't help when a certain player turns the puck over at his own blueline to steven stamkos who gets to skate into the slot and rip a wrist shot putting the whole team in a hole

no and no. rangers are trying to fix their scoring issues permanently. trading kreider doesn't do that and hagelin is a huge piece to this team.

girardi + miller + boyle + 1st....maybe but honestly, after seeing tampa's first goal, it might be an overpayment. girardi is a top 10 shutdown defender in the league and yakupov might become a top 10 sniper eventually? idk if the value is fair after including our top prospect, a good depth player AND a 1st.

- rangerdanger94

Disagree with this statement. I think his value was boosted by playing for Torts. He's still a top-3 Dman on virtually any team, but I wouldn't say he's a top 10 shutdown Dman.

i understand your argument, but i stand by my statement. besides 2 abysmal games (which were more bad overall team performances than an individual performance) against the sharks and ducks, girardi has been pretty rock solid. not like the year he was an allstar, but pretty darn close.

should be noted that in the past 7 years, girardi has played 470 games out of 474 games. that's not including the playoffs where he's played 64 games out of 64 games. all while playing physical, blocking shots, and averaging 22-25 minutes of ice time a year.

I would be down for Girardi, hopefully the oil could snag Coburn from the flyers too.

Huge offense... on pace for 29 pts
- Reveen

That's a stupid thing to say, really!! Yakupov…on pace for 17 points, kids terrible, see if you can get a 4th rounder for him

The Flyers are having a terrible year, it happens, try to think of the big picture!!

the oilers have enough guys that have the skill to put the puck in the net. they need guys that provide the intangibles, like a simmonds. he's the exact type of player the oilers are missing, in my opinion.

trading 1 of the 5/6/7 skill guys that can put the puck in the net for a package of a defender, a top 6 guy with grit, and more is exactly what they need. not a trade straight up for another skilled goal scorer.

The league leader in recent history scoring is going to score on those. Dubey shoulda had the wrap around.

This was a much more bearable game to watch. Keep the Eagers and Actons off the ice, they do nothing for the Oil.

yea i know, but the first goal in a game is always huge is what i was saying. that goal probably deflated the squad a bit and had the oilers chasing the rest of the night.

hypothetical question: if Yzerman does a ton of heroin and called up MacT and says "hey, we'll give you stamkos straight up for yakupov!"...and you guys do it...do you think that solves your problems and you guys are a winning team then?

same. I guess we bleed orange and blue.

I actually wonder if the players actually care any more. Its got to be hard, early in November and the year is a write off

Larsen and Fedun are not the answer !!!!!
- Reveen

Of course not but offensively speaking they are up there with shultz so using him as bait for tough winger or stay home d player could work.

I think the team played better but with out a goalie the Oil will remain the same, unless they start scoring 8goals a game.

woot woot they played better and still put up another loss. Its about time the team puts some heart into the way they play and grind out wins. Plain and simple they need to win. The season is over at the 15 game mark. By far the worst year in years
