Next 2 should be easy, Florida is licking their wounds from 7 straight losses and NJ deserves a beating, no let downs
- cranford93

Rangers never make it easy against the the Devils, you know that. Panthers took 2 of 3 last year from the Rangers.

man the flyers are officially a trainwreck. they're gonna start selling soon and who knows...maybe they'll start selling within the division??
- rangerdanger94

I still insist you forget this season, a loss anyway, and don't panic sell. Sell what's old and useful to others at the deadline, when you aren't getting cents on the dollar for the assets. This is the worst time to make deals. No one will give you value. These guys look horrible, but they aren't horrible players. (Well, most of them aren't.)

and with another loss, the oilers become even more desperate for a shakeup.

I hate these announcers right now. Absolutely horrible.
- mrhattrick27

Actually I like them a lot. They are very fair. You have to remember they are employed by Fox Sports Ohio and it is their job to broadcast Jackets games to presumably Jackets fans. The NHL Network picks up the local feed because they don't want to pay for their own announcers.

Also, NHL Network never ever picks up the MSG telecast. Does Dolan not allow it?

I assumed it was because the movie was set in New York. Other than that I can't say.

Hey guys, first post but ive been following for a couple years now on HB. Great wins back to back and the team looks like its finally coming together and adjusting to the system. Quick thought on the Yak deal thats been rumored lately with edmonton.
What do you guys think of the edmonton brass possibly taking a look at richards these past few games to see if last year was just a fluke and hes back to the same old richards. I think they still want one of our defenseman but doing something like DZ/Girardi+Richards for Yak + .... The reason I think this makes sense is Edmonton is laking a true veteran leader on that team and Richards is the perfect guy to guide some of these #1's into great players. Also if im Edmonton I'm not dealing a guy like Yak for a prospect + pick + a player that can be gone in 1-2 years (Girardi/Staal) due to the fact that edmonton is not winning anything within the next year or 2 and to get rid of a guy like Yak for a possible rental is insane when the playoffs are not in the immediate future. The reason Richards makes sense is hes signed long term and even with his age and if he has reduced numbers over the years he can still provide the leadership the Oilers are severly lacking while still playing in their top 6. Dealing Richards for us helps us out with the cap and the decision on whether or not to buy him out at the end of the year and edmonton can take on his cap with no problem. To me something like this is a win win for both clubs however, Im not sure I would ruin the current chemistry on this team because Richards is playing great hockey this year with hags and cally.

oh so you be lurkin?
anyway I like your idea. It all depends on whether or not they really believe a veteran will change the culture up there. And doesnt richards have a ntc? if so it probably includes Edmonton like most high caliber players. If it were to happen, I would think a raw deal like that would require girardi with richards, not dz. However, if you threw in a 1st with richards and dz, that changes the picture. But at the end of the day, you are right about possibly breaking up the team chemistry. richards is playing with a lot of heart this year. interesting proposal though.

Richards has a full NMC, plus no team in the league will touch that contract, same reason we will buy him out, it's a new CBA nightmare.

yakupov tried to dangle around stamkos at his own blue line and gets it picked off and stammer skates into the slot and snipes it.

let's get him while his value is at an all-time low!

- rangerdanger94

Worse than that, he jumped around Stamkos to avoid contact and let him go in unobstructed! He could always bolt to the KHL, too. Love the talent but I wouldn't pay a big ransom either. Oilers have more proven assets.

7 assists last 6 games for Zuccarello, he is another guy who is just night and day from the beginning of the year. Playing fantastic with Stepan and Kreider.

He really needs to start finishing though. We almost let Columbus off the hook last night and Zucc should have buried a couple of those chances in the second to put the game out of reach.

I love him though, one of the biggest bargains in the league at 1.15 million.

He's doing his best to get out of town. Coach hates him. But, I'm still not willing to sell the ranch to get him. He's only 20 years old an has a lot of maturing to do but there's no mistaking the talent.

its a shame.. 2 seasons ago they looked to be putting things in order and i was actually quite impressed with what Talon was doing... figured he was going to save them like Chicago...

Blog here says they were talking to Laviolette. Why would he go from one lousy GM to another? Regardless of what was accomplished in Chicago. Perhaps that wasn't just him?

The ranch won't have to be sold to get Yakupov though; that's the beauty of it.

He plays for a coach that has buried him on the bench and shows no faith in him. We, as Rangers fans should realize that symptom and how it affects a young player, or have we already forgotten how Tortorella handled Chris Kreider and how bad Kreider looked in lieu of said treatment?

A player of that talent level needs a coach to give him the chance to make mistakes and play through it. He's a second year player, with an extremely high skill level, playing on an atrocious hockey team.

I am still very much all in for Yakupov; no matter how much better the team looks lately.

Two years ago, the free agent splurge of 2011, actually paid off. Lately, those same free agents haven't done much and the kids aren't developing as quikcly as they would hope, sans Huberdeau of course.

I wouldn't call Tallon a lousy GM... a Stanley Cup is a Stanley Cup. They have some players in Fla, just need a system that works for the players.
