What else would you put in a 1985 Yugo if it needs a transmission and if it doesn't, why bother?

All this Yakupov & Gaborik stuff is lovely...but the biggest need is a good, young, mobile defenseman with good puck skills. Without adding that, Yakupov or Gaborik is putting a new transmission into a 1985 Yugo

The goaltending and the defense haven't been that bad. I would rather address both right now if I could, but we need the scoring first. We do have defensive assetts in the minors that we might be able to move along, but it is also something that might be able to be addressed in the off-season. With the way the current defense is playing and goaltending, if they could score over 3 goals per game, they would be a playoff team.

The biggest reason the offense isn't there is because they can't move the puck up the ice quickly enough to get zone time and create second chances. Their zone entries are horrible, and neither Nail Yakupov or Marian Gaborik solves that really major issue.

Adding a defenseman with good mobility and puck skills doesn't primarily help the defense, it creates offense and allows the team to attack while the other team is in flux, rather than when they have four players back, waiting to stymie the attack.

This may or may not come as some shock to you, but many scientists are saying that Toyota's best-selling hybrid, the Prius, is actually bad for the environment. Some are even asserting that it has a worse impact on our world than the widely-hated Hummer.

The Prius' battery contains nickel, which is mined in Ontario Canada. The plant that smelts this nickel is apparently nicknamed "the Superstack" because of the amount of pollution it puts out; the area for miles around it is a wasteland because of acid rain and air pollution.

The study then concludes that -- all the production costs in mind -- the Prius costs about $3.25 per mile and is expected to last about 100,000 miles. The Hummer, on the other hand, with all the same factors counted, costs about $1.95 per mile and is expected to last about 300,000 miles.

That's because each Prius consumes the equivalent of 1,000 gallons of fuel before its odometer clicks to 1.

Suck that you fart sniffing progressives! lol

I had hopes that Streit, even if he is past his best years, would help move the puck out of the D zone more effectively. But he gets hemmed in there as much as the rest of them.

Coburn to me has been the one bright spot on the D core. Which isn't saying much but I think they would be bonkers to trade him unless a capable defenseman is coming back. I like Grossmann too, but he is good for at least one memorable gaffe per game.

I don't give a poop one way or another. If somebody likes a particular car, great, drive that car. You want to rock a Prius? Knock yourself out. If you want to drive a Hummer and have the side keyed when you take up two spots at the Wawa...have at it.

Exactly. 100 miles round trip to work in an Xterra at 4.35 a gallon. I didn't even test drive one. Just bought it and drove off the lot counting my beer money.

I might have to get me one of them Priuses....I could use that mileage. Most trips if we drive a mile, we end up driving 50+

What a poopty way for him to start his 2nd tenure. Really happy to see he won't miss much time. I'm excited/interested to see how he plays and fits in here.

Yep. The thing I liked the most about it is the versatility it gives Berube.

He can play on the first line and not be totally out of place, like Raffl. He can be a tough presence that can score on the 2nd or 3rd lines, or even drop down and give them a 4th line that can play a regular shift and provide help to the top 3 lines.

Much as I liked Max Talbot, he was, on his best day, an OK third liner and PK guy.

It'll be interesting to see how the line changes play out. In an ideal world I love having Vinny centering the second line. It really adds depth to the lineup. Question is, can g Voracek and hartnell step up? I hope so!

It's clear now too that the flyers aren't a Max talbot away from a cup run so may as well address bigger areas of need and get younger. I like it.
