Bourne's take on what Giroux's going through:

I hope he's right that Giroux will get his 20.. I have been waiting for a break out 4 point type game, but it hasn't happened.

Not possible, they should trade him now for Saku Koivu
- Jsaquella

I think you're reaching. You should re-evaluate these outlandish trade scenarios before you post them.

REALLY!?!?!?!?!

I don't think Giroux will get close to 20 goals this season, or to the Olympics.

Your missing the point. Anyone here would take Yakupov in a second. It's what your giving up to get him that the majority of Flyer fans aren't willing to give up.
- Chris48

Because a lot of fans think that every young hockey player is like an Egg. Sit on it long enough and it will hatch into Wayne Gretzky. I however have a more realistic expectation for players like Schenn and Couturier. B.Schenn will likely be a career 2nd line player. Couturier may develop some offensive game and become a career second line center or Selkie quality center. Or Couturier may just stay a 3rd line shut-down player like Langenbrunner or Handzus. Luke Schenn if fully develops might be a low-end top pairing guy, or a high end 2nd pairing guy...

And Dont get me started on Simmonds. He will forever be a player that nets 20-30 goals but will be streaky, take bad penalities, and cant handle the puck. Best outcome is 2nd line player.

I really only think Voracek has the potential to be a top line player. I think he has the tool, but hasnt put them together yet.

I dont think it has anything to do with his struggles. I think it has to do with a team that needs help on defense and goaltending and will use what they have an abundance of to get that. Yakupov, with all the talent he has, and what he will become, is still behind Hall and Eberle on the wing, and RNH and Gagner at center they have an embarrasment of riches at forward. So you move one to get the defenseman or goalie you need.

The lowest scoring Western team is Nashville with 37 goals in 15 games.

Flyers have 22 in 14. I thought last year's team was hard to watch with the bad goaltending and constant defensive breakdowns, but this is even worse.

Are you saying you trade for Yakupov for L. Schenn, Simmonds and Voracek ?

No I said B.Schenn and L.Schenn.

But I have heard rumors of Coburn, Couturier, and draft pick also.

IMO with Schenn or Couturier I think they take Gagner and try and flip him for a Number 1 goalie.

If we're talking about trading the Schenn bros or Coots for anything, I want it to be for a #1 puck moving defenseman.

Our forward group is too talented to keep this crap scoring pace up for the entire season. Goals will come. Maybe a few guys will have bad seasons, but I don't think all of Giroux, Voracek, Vinny, Read, Hartnell, and Simmonds will continue to forget how to score. I don't think we'll have any 30 goal scorers, but definitely 4-5 20 goal scorers.

I think you can get that number 1 puck moving defenseman for Simmonds, Coburn, either Cousins or Laughton depending on the player, and a Pick.

Yes if you give up both Schenns and Simmonds, Coburn, plus your giving up 4 roster players, but your getting back 2 higher quality players, and you will still have Giroux, Read, Vorack, Vinny, Hartnell, and Couts.

Tim Panaccio ‏@tpanotchCSN 37m
Emery's lifetime numbers vs NJ: 1.90, .931, 11 games, 2 shutouts, 6-3-2

I think that has more to do with it.

That better be a 8' tall defenseman that can shoot 200 mph and move better than Datsyuk.

Koivu is a good player, but nothing to go nuts over.
