Soooo, possible reason for Downie trade or possible cover up reason?

http://www.cbssports.com/...nt-with-gabriel-landeskog

I find it ironic given that Landeskog was giving Downie high praise during the offseason, citing his absence due to injury as a primary reaosn the team did poorly last season...and I also remember when this scuffle happened seeing Landeskog kind of blowing it off...but maybe the org didn't like it...if we benefit from it, so be it!

well congrats to homer if he saw an opportunity to get a player for cheap

His data was wrong, and his calculations were off by a percentage point. Next time, show your work!

lol... Unreal this guy. Probably the only guy on here that would trade for Yak and Buff. Probably lose B. Schenn, Couts, Read, Coburn and a 1st for those two unreliable players.

Hope you were sarcastic !!!!!

Not 1 bit. Yakupov is young and works with the idea of rebuilding. He will be a top line perrenial all-star scorer. And before we get into "he doesn't play defense", that is not every players game. Some guys are pure offensive machines, like Pavel Bure, Jaromir Jagr, Marian Gaborik... I want someone that can FINISH.

As for Buff, if there was another better, cheaper, younger option I would go for it. But there isn't.

What if Schenn Bros gets you Yakupov and a 2nd round pick. And Simmonds, Cousins, Coburn gets you Buff. You still have most of your youth, and this team is MUCH better and could actually compete this year, if not next.

i'd be very hesitant to give up both schenns for yakupov
i'd feel more comfortable with something like Hartnell Cooter and coburn for yakupov

Nice cop-out !!!

If you haven't noticed the unreal amount of dump-ins and failed zone entries with possession this year and last, your not watching the Flyers my friend.

Take a look at a few games of high scoring teams (CHI-PITT-SJ-COL) you will notice the difference. One has to take into account the talent difference between teams, but that being said, neutral zone play and zone entries are remarkably different compared to the Flyers. Too much talent on the roster to be scoring 1.5 goals per.

I read this before and I still think Homer won that trade for several reasons.

I'm all for getting Yak but no way the Schenn Bros get him, let alone a 2nd rounder as well.

This feels flimsy.

Don't these sorts of scuffles happen at practice from time to time?

I hope we hold onto both Schenns and have them develop into hard turds with no trade value.

I've made my suggestions. Trade for Yakupov and Buff.
- youarewrong

Your missing the point. Anyone here would take Yakupov in a second. It's what your giving up to get him that the majority of Flyer fans aren't willing to give up.

It's clear we are using different formulas to come to different conclusions. I am certified in CORSI analytics from 3 different universities. Once computers can handle my calculations, I will make sure to send them your way.

I'm disappointed to come back and find that "Downies' Eye" didn't prompt a single brilliant individual to post "Coburn's Nose"

Just so let down.

I don't think Giroux will get close to 20 goals this season, or to the Olympics.
