That's possible, but the return needs to be significant. You're going to be paying for potential for this to happen. - BigDre
Not as much as Edmonton is going to have to pay for an established player. |

This is how the Sabres play defense. This is not photshopped!!!! Notice the front of the net.

Yea apparently. It has to be to a team that is a legit favorite kinda like a Boston CHicago last year. He figures that it will be 20 games at the end of his career that no one will remember and he also wants to help the Devils out so if he can fetch us a good return and we are out of it at the deadline then he might go to Lou and say hey I want one more shot here is who I would be willing to go to and send me to whichever of those 2 teams offers the best return. He hasn't ruled out signing back with us after either as a back up. Who knows though I mean I think we where 10 points out at the deadline last year and thought we still had a shot so hopefully if it's the same situation we just realize it's not happening and get what we can. I am in the few that's not against moving him if it helps the team going forward. |

Omg... Ok where to start?
1. Eakins came out and said this morning that Yak isn't going anywhere.
2. Talk is not with Florida. Speculation is being made that there could be something brewing with the Rangers.
3. Lowe and MacT weren't watching the Flyers and Carolina play. They watched the Rangers and Ducks play on Monday night.
4. If there's a deal with the Rangers, Nash will not be coming back. We don't want him.
5. Miller IS NOT coming to Edmonton. We're on his list of teams that he will not go to.
None of this crap is happening. Except for maybe Hemsky getting traded in the next while. |

Yea good for him. That would help you guys out at or around the deadline if he could be dealt somewhere. I think you could get a nice piece for him then. Win-Win for both parties. |

That's why I said maybe. Even if he is playing better this season he's gotta pick it up way more. If he is traded I'm sure Edmonton will eat some of his contract. If they don't then yeah, the return will be a used washing machine. |

He has always been about helping us out. The guy continuously took pay cuts for us to resign guys like Elias and Gomez and we all know Gomez felt he was worth 7 million while Marty was making 5. Makes sense that if he where to leave the team he would want to help the team in doing so. He also knows we don't have first and are going to need whatever we can get to make up for that. |

Can you so spastically trying to run everyone out of town? You tore into arcobello and praised him two hours later - Morris
I don`t like him in the lineup and I think he is in over his head. I don`t like watching him miss wide open nets and missing tape to tape passes. He should be replaced by a bigger, stronger, more confident centerman.
Having said that, he had a very good game and I praised him for that, and I don`t think there is anything wrong with that. |

What if someone else had something the ducks wanted in exchange for Hiller....and knowing that Miller is on the market, they could trade away Hiller?
I suspect that's where these rumors are coming from, rather than "because Miller wants to go there."
Don't think I've ever heard of a trade happening because a player said "trade me there." - seedy
Nice avatar... He was a wicked 2C in NHL 94 behind Patty (for one timers anyways). |

If you want any deal for yakopov, the oilers should target both del zotto and mcdonagh - Mapleleafs_91
anything after mcdonagh is gravy.
but apparently now eakins has came out and said it aint happening.,,,
too bad. i really think we coulda helped ourselves now and the future with a yaks trade.
a win-win for two organizations.

Gregor mentioned it might be beneficial to send Yak to the AHL. Thoughts on this?
I'm not opposed as he could learn to play defense and figure out his positioning and maybe get to the front of the net more. I worry about the mental aspect though. |

An increasing number of Montreal fans say that the increasing animosity between Subban and management will make it much harder to sign him. If that is the case, does a Montreal/Edmonton deal not make a lot of sense. Perhaps,
Yakupov plus a prospect for Subban.
Remember Galchyuk and Yakupov have already demonstrated solid chemistry between them. |

Edmonton should jump at that. Montreal gets a decent return only if re-signing Subban becomes unlikely or he requests a trade. |
