The Oil had to be at the Philly/Carolina game Looking at Schenn. He is being shopped and Oilers are known to have liked him. I don't think Yak is the return on this unless someone else is coming. The Oilers need a Top D, a Goalie and size on the front. They are not going to make the playoffs this year so the players they are looking at will be young.

If it is Yak, which I doubt, expect them to be looking at the Schenns, Read, Simmonds or Couturier. Whatever it is, the price will be high for the talented 20 year old Russian.

As for the Rangers. The price would be a lot more the Del Zotto. He is not a proven number one dman and I am thinking the reason the Oilers moved to another game is that their price was too steep for the NYR.

The Florida rumor makes sense if we are talking about Campbell short term for someone like Hemsky. The Oil obviously aren't going after Dmen like Gilbert or Whitney who they passed on during the summer. I don't think anyone is after Jovi. Campbell is decent but for the Oilers to be able to take on his 7 mil plus salary, the only person they can part with is Hemsky.

I could see them go for Miller as Buffalo wants youth. Hiller would be too pricey a trade. I think Elliot is their best bet for the year since they are not going anywhere with out a dman and I don't see that happening without them mortgaging their future.
