to me, Ottawa's defence was the game. mentioned it last night but that game was exactly how the series went last May. Montreal carrying play, Ottawa playing with no initiative, but the Senator's defence just boxing Montreal out and keeping every chance to one-and-done. Lehner was great. but there were no second chances. AND he was fighting the puck alot. he was putting the puck into high-percentage areas all night but the Habs couldn't or wouldn't get to it. i thought for sure they would adjust their game after recognizing this early on but they stuck to their perimeter stuff.

this is what it's come to with him. sad. more involved yes but generated nothing. not sure if you saw it on your feed, but the cameras kept panning to Marc Bergevin upstairs and he looked bewildered.

Went to the net more and drew a penalty.

More so in the 3rd than anything. Habs had some stellar chances in the 1-2 and couldn't bury it. I give their team D credit though but Lehner made some very good saves, that would have changed the game plan for the Sens

and good as Markov was, his assist on Methot's goal was... a bad moment.

Calm down people, everything is going according to plan, they will finish 9th or 10th in the conference.

Maybe not but he still only allowed 3 goals...wasn't that bad of a game for him. With a good team in front of him that's not a problem.

i agree. scoring is becoming an issue again. the forecheck is nowhere near as aggressive as it was last season and the transition game isn't as deadly. i remember hearing Therrien say something in the preseason about how he thought the team got worn down playing that style last year so they were gonna dial it back a bit this year.
