i thought (hoped) they were seriously benching DD, like for a good 4-5 games.

Yeah, me too.

On the plus side, I have a feeling that PK plays big minutes tonight.

He is signed for 3 more years, they need him to produce, they can't destroy completely his confidence.

That said...he better show up tonight

his confidence is in pieces. it's absolutely shattered. the benching affected that in no way, shape or form. i thought a 4-5 game benching would be a complete reset for him, to the point where he'd come back and no one expected anything from him. i assumed that's what they were doing.

A lot of young centermen start their pro career at wing.

Tyler Seguin is an example.

Just a point producer, doesn't have the intangibles to bring his team to the playoffs

I really don't know how the mechanics of it all work, but I remember earlier in the season they were sending some players down and calling them back up the day after for salary cap purposes.

Well where he hasn't been able to work through it while playing, there aren't too many options available except for sitting.

We all know some guys get more chances than others...only took 1 bad game for Lars Eller to be in the press box last year.

Was talking hockey with a coworker, Phaneuf might get the same contract as PK...
