Sounds French enough, Pete. Keep up, will you?

Howard... honest question. I only ask you this because we are both fans of the standard "H" when it comes to our transmission preference.

With more and more cars these days increasingly sporting the stupid paddle shifters, do you see the stick shift one day go the way of the dodo bird?

I think they are counting on injuries or at the least either Murray or Boullion to play themselves into the press box. It will get interesting when Emelin comes back.

personally i'm thinking more long term... like next year. not that i've given up on this year but there's obviously going to be a huge transition on D next year and i think it's important that at least one of Tinordi or Beaulieu establishes himself in the top 6 this year so that we don't spend another summer signing Murray, Bouillon, Drewiske, etc. as for Emelin, yeah. wonder who sits. i would imagine Bouillon/Murray will alternate.

he has to be. I don't even think he'd be able to do it intentionally.

I agree and its frustrating to see. The drewiske signing was nonsense. The shame is that they will hang onto the vets as long as they have a shot at the POs. So I can see Tinordi or Beaulieu only getting in if there are injuries.

and it's almost hard to blame Therrien for that--he's going to be looking for an extension after this season so obviously he's in "make the playoffs at all costs" mode.

reeks of ego

edit: saw his team rant on 24, it was bush league to the point of ridiculous. I wasn't a fan of Therrien coming back but I'm willing to be patient but I hate the way this team is being developed.

but what if, at the end of the day, he gets them in? i'd rather be 8 than out of it.

I'd rather be out of it with a chance at the lottery than be 8th and get destroyed in the 1st round.

It looked like it was after a practice and he had the team in a room and was ranting at them like they were children about accountability to each other, buying into systems, etc.. It was so full of cliches it was sickening. I don't like the idea of there being cameras etc in there, it just seems so contrived, detrimental IMO.

yeah but there is a lot of space between the lottery picks and 8th playoff seeds. the habs aren't lottery bad.

Its a vicious circle. Ideally I'd like to see them get in but with one of Tinordi or Beaulieu being part of it.

I don't mind us missing the playoffs if it gets us another player like Galchenyuk....

But I must say, even if we don't win the cup, I really enjoy playoff hockey.

Not many teams will be able to afford the 8 year upwards of $80m he will be looking for. Clearly Montreal made a huge mistake when Subban held out.
- spatso

Ottawa fans ladies and gentleman. Not only is Subban going to hold out and demand the league maximum, but Jean-Gabriel Pageau makes plays Claude Giroux wishes he could.

Thats it I guess, they're not contending and they won't be any time soon if they keep relying on old vets at the cost of their youth development

Do you honestly think MTL is similar to that team. They played way below par in the reg. season.
