At this rate I don't know how Morin or Hagg ever play games as a Flyer. This team can't afford to wait three years for help on the backend.

they need couturier and schenn to start producing something. people make couturier to be a great untouchable and the kid can not score.

I think they need to keep the team in tact. I mean it's rough right now but if you keep blowing up or trading pieces of the team its just going to make it worse. Quality players on this team just aren't playing up to their potential.
- Babalu88

Maybe this is a big part of the larger issue. Personally I believe the majority of forwards on this team are decent fringe 2nd and 3rd/4th line players. The ceiling on players like Couturier, B. Schenn, Simmonds, etc. will never be reached in my estimation. Do people honestly still believe these players are as "talented" as the GM/Coaching staff say they are? I don't. Up until this year, I would have included G in the top 10 forwards of the entire league. Whatever the reason(s) is, he has been brutal this year. I see no fire or intensity from him at all. That was one thing I thought you could always count on from G, but it is gone. Could it be the departures of Briere and Lavy? Is he still hurt and it has shattered every bit of confidence he has?

This team is tough to watch anymore. Boring, slow and heartless hockey. I'd like to see some trades just to create interest in watching. Painful season.

I concur! What a sh*t show last night and most nights this season. Maybe all these extensions signed by players over the last couple seasons has made guys too complacent. Trade me right f*cking now!

Playing against the Flyers has been a cure-all for opposing goalies' save percentages and confidence issues. It doesn't matter if it's a high-end netminder or a third-string goaltender such as the Hurricanes' Justin Peters.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory since 2012.

The whole team looks like they could use a month off to reset and then a presseason. They might be ready to compete in the NHL around February.

If they scored just 3 goals every game, based on final scores, They would be 7-4-3.

Obviously scoring 3 a night in the NHL isn't easy..

If we he an offense, we'd have a playoff team.

- Flyersgod

The offense isn't just the forwards either...we must have the worst shooting d corps in the f*cking league. Any time there is sustained pressure in the offensive zone and they get it to the point, they wiff on one timers(Mez), hit shin pads or completely miss the net. I'd have those as*holes taking shots all practice until their arms couldn't move!

Most of the guys you want to trade have NMCs. They aren't going anywhere they don't want to go.

Bill do you remember who had the puck with 30 ft of open ice to skate up and dump but elected to pass it to our worst puck handler grossman?

Giroux! He lost the game for the flyers. End of story

- Just5

I thought Streit losing the puck to Malholtra was pretty bad. How slow they looked trying to chase down Malholtra was even worse. I don't think anyone closed any distance. They were skating in quicksand.

The Flyers will spare no expense in assembling the best dcorps possible! You say they have already spent more than anyone in the league on their defense? Carry on then.

Is it time to take the C off Giroux and perhaps sit him for a game or 2? He looks awful out there.
- BiggE

The "C" issue is way overblown. They are all adults with a job to do...they shouldn't need someone to constantly motivate them. G might need some time in the press box, but how much worse would the team be without him in the lineup?

Again, great by job by the GM handing out massively inflated extensions and NMCs

Every pass is a near disaster on both ends every acceptance of a pass is double clutched or bouncing off the stick or in someones skates or to the opposition. This is mutiny and its heartless purposeless play. Girouxs hands are screwed and hes afraid.

From my understanding, once a player signs an extension with a NMC it kicks in immediately.

The old give up the tying goal in the last minute, lose in OT act. Was wondering when we would see that.

Carolina had lost 5 in a row, and had their third string goalie in net, and still the Flyers came away with one goal. Unreal.

What a mess. I have no idea what the solution is.

Did that change with the new CBA? The Flyers traded Carter to Columbus before his new contract and NMC kicked in.

If I were a player, and I knew about the Carter and Richard trades, I would never give the Flyers a hometown discount to play for them.

i think it starts with realizing that some of the players that were recently traded for are not as good as once thought and that the gm may have been fleeced. then you ask him to clean out his desk, thank him for all his hard work, and make some trades.
