Getting killed by our D and goaltending again. Time for Capuano to get nabby the fack out of there. His reaction time and glove hand are horrible. - Cptmjl
What's worse is you can see a lack of confidence in Nabby by his defense. Fundamental defense tells you to never leave your feet, stay in the middle and cancel the pass while allowing the goalie to handle the shooter. Our dman are constantly choosing to cancel the shot by diving and leave the pass... Bad sign. |

Clutterbuck's penalty was dumb. And that line in general has been borderline useless for a long time. None of the three can really play their game. Clutterbuck would be most useful with the other crashers on the fourth line. Grabner's most useful when there's someone who can actually get him the puck, and Regin is most useful observing the game from the press box. |

And someone really needs to ask Cappy why Carkner is killing a penalty against Ovechkin and Washington's first power play unit. |

He just doesn't look very fundamentally sound. To me that's a red flag. Regardless of being rusty or whatever, that's still something that can be worked on without games. I can see a lot of rebounds or missing a shot with the glove hand from lack of work, but not being out of position and lying on his back every flurry. He gives himself no chance to make a lot of saves, regardless if they are his fault or not. - Isles316
Yet that seems to describe Nabby too. Goalies tend to look fundamentally flawed and desperate when their defenses suck. |

If I were part of the defense I'd have zero confidence in nabby and if I were nabby I'd have zero confidence in the defense. |

PP for Isles would be nice..... I said this before, if you need a first NHL goal or to break a slump, play the Isles... |

We'll see. I think Ovechkin poses a big problem in Nabby struggles with players that shoot high glove and Ovie has a damn fine snapshot. I'm guaran-damn-teeing at least one for #8 tonight.
Hopefully JT and Vanek are ready to make some noise. - keaner17

Say what you want about any of the other defensemen, but Carkner is clearly the worst of the six. Putting him on the first PK unit is...I can't even come up with anything that might be kind of an acceptable reason. |

that first pp goal against was a fairly harmless wrist shot from the point, Nabby whiffs on it and the whole team sags. Bouchard, Nielson, Bailey not generating much of anything, all pressure is coming from the top line and the defense are standing in front of our goaltender trying to block the shot at the top of the crease rather than let Nabby see it, because he sucks. Should have been pulled already but Capuano would rather allow the game to get further out of hand than give the team a boost by putting in the kid.
Carkner's been horrible, Nabby's been awful. Where's the team that played against Boston? And how the hell do we allow a partial breakaway on the PK? Amac got caught flatfooted at the line and then everyone else gets caught trying to compensate for him being out of position.
Overall, pretty disgusting. Top line is the only thing giving me any hope at all tonight but they're not going to score 3 goals in the third to force overtime

The guy was logging twenty minutes a few times last year. Capuano is out of his mind. |

I'd also bet that Nabakov is good for a couple more goals after Capuano puts him out to start the third. |
