Yak is struggling but I don't even think you can say sophomore slump. It's more of a rookie slump. Two coaches, two systems and two positions in uour first 60 games isnt easy.

Well, normally I'd agree, but the Fans collective patience has been worn thin. Even if we retain Yak and he manages to turn his game around, we still are left with the wrong mix of players to be competitive, meaning we have to convert some of our wealth of offensively talented youngsters to meet other needs. That's proper planning in any venue. As they say: "defence wins championships". We need a true #1 G, some stud D and at least 2 big, fast wingers to be balanced IMO.

I didn't say don't trade any of the youngsters,I say way for the right moment,which I believe is wait till the off season,value is not great right now for Yak but if giving the rest of the year to see if He does turn his game around and score 30 goals by the end of this season then the return is better then what probably is now,yes the Oil need to trade one of this two in my opinion Eberle/Yak,Eberle will bring you the better return right now but Yak won't and if Yak is the one to go then I say wait till the off season,the Oil are not making the playoff this season.

Can't disagree. MacT said tonight that he won't make a deal without getting a solid return, so maybe we'll have to wait till the deadline or next year. I've long been concerned that our smaller guys are and will continue to get banged up, so we need some guys playing with the top 2 lines, not only to bang and create space, but to be ready to jump in as soon has liberties are taken. Scary knee to Nuge tonight---was called for tripping but it was so close to a knee injury and no one on the Oil stepped up. We need some big wingers yesterday; the rest can wait til later 'cause I don't see us making playoffs this year---and that's pretty damn sad after all these years.
