Marginally maybe. I didnt really see it, but i may have missed a few things. I just dont think he's doing anytging positive.

And if he did look better, that's also in relation to being a liability.

I hope he gets trade it away and then score like 50 goals with another team.

I do too. For realz.

Id love to see a win-win trade happen.

We get a quality defender and a big winger with abit of skill.

Give up some pure talent and pure scoring for some serious deficiencies we have.

Problem is I think the Oil is not going to get the best on a Yak deal and then we all going to be crying about it.

Sportsnet panel speculating Yak for DelZ--I sure hope not. When Yak gets straightened out, he'll be an awesome player for years. However, the Oil can't afford to wait much longer for that. They need to pull the trigger if they can get 2 solid assets for Yak, like a stud D and a big winger. I'd really like to see a big wingman with Nuge & Ebs just to see what that does for them and the club.
Ideally we need a big winger on the first 2 lines so other teams will have to chose which line to put their best defenders against, leaving room for the other line to step up and perform. Moves like that could add confidence to the young group and that would be priceless.

That trade would be awful for the Oilers. Rangers would have to add another significant piece.

Im ok with mact rolling the dice.

But del zotto is NOT the answer.
Wouldnt even consider a deal with the rangers unless one of staal, girardi or mcdonagh are involved.
Not even sure girardi is really what we need...

Taking DelZorro in a deal for Yak would not help the Oil,I think the Oil have a player like DelZorro in Larsen or even Fedun, the Oil needs to get the best on any deal involving Yak or keep him.

Mcdonagh is prob completely out of the question for anybody outside of hall.

It'd have to be staal.

Id PAY for a resigned staal and kreider.

Yaks, n.schultz, marincin/maybe klefbom

Well, right now Yak's play isn't helping his trade value. We need to dance with a team willing to pay for Yak's potential, recognizing that he's in a sophomore slump on a team racked with injuries. So, if we could get a 3-4 D and a big, fast, gritty winger, I'm good with that.
If it's with the Rangers, then Mcdonough or Staal plus Kreider or Boyle

That's when a smart GM knows when to make a trade and keep his trade chip till the value goes higher, trading him right now it will be a bad idea unless like I say the other team over pays,Bob Stauffer was clear about any trade involving Yak's,for the Oil to trade Yak's the return have to be massive or you don't trade a player like Yak,the Oil are not making the playoff, wait for the off season, who knows by the time the Oil have play the full season Yak goals totals are 30 and his value is higher and the Oil can trade him for a better return if they desire to trade him,I think what the Oil should do is try to trade a player like Hemsky,Nick Schultz and maybe even Smid and some picks for other players the Oil need.

If yak does turn around and comes out of his sophomore slump. Would we still want to trade him? I personally dont want to trade him. I think its pretty likely we wont make the playoffs this year. As much as most Oilers fans hate it. We should probably keep our "young guns" at least till the year ends. Than hopefully Nurse is ready to go next year, and maybe Klefbom. Larson and Fedun looked good tonight also. I just think there so young. When there all 25 and winning our first of many Stanley cups. we will be laughing.

I will lose my mind of yakupov is used to get del zotto. Nothing against del zotto but we need McDonagh. I'm cautious about marc staal too with his injury history.

Yak is struggling but I don't even think you can say sophomore slump. It's more of a rookie slump. Two coaches, two systems and two positions in uour first 60 games isnt easy.

Well, normally I'd agree, but the Fans collective patience has been worn thin. Even if we retain Yak and he manages to turn his game around, we still are left with the wrong mix of players to be competitive, meaning we have to convert some of our wealth of offensively talented youngsters to meet other needs. That's proper planning in any venue. As they say: "defence wins championships". We need a true #1 G, some stud D and at least 2 big, fast wingers to be balanced IMO.

Hemsky , N.Schultz and even Smid and some picks?
I hope you don't mind giving up some serious picks because the players you just mentioned have less than zero value on the trade market. Why do so many of my fellow Ouler fans continue to dream about turning our garbage into gold?

Hey, you won't get any argument that the goal was a bad one for him to let past, but if you insist on using some bad goals as your only argument point, then you're missing the bigger picture.

No one can deny that Dubnyk lets in some pretty awful goals, but don't try to tell me that those goals are the main contributor to the team's current 4-10-2 record. More goals have been a result of bad individual plays by his teammates and a flawed system than shots he's flubbed on. That I can guarantee.

Cool new Avy...now how do you suggest we fix the Team Defence. Get another new coach? Chance player personnel ? How the hell do we do that?

N schultz is a throw in for a warm body and to equal out salary. Nothing more.

Hemmer might get a defensive checker or a 2nd.
Maybe a late first at deadline.

Smid has abit of value. Tough to see him go instead of n schultz tho even for an upgrade. Laddy pushed down to our 3rd pairing would be ideal
