Carolina is totally screwed on the blueline I doubt they move Gleason.

I'd do that. Imagine what Hemsky and Semin could do when they are both in a scoreless slump!

Sure, sounds like it could become a sick, cup competitive top 9. Three lines we can roll situationally, like many of the good teams (LA often has Kopitar, Richards/Carter and Brown on three different lines!)

I envision

Hall-Gagner-Yakupov
Defensive Tough winger - Nuge - Ebs
Perron - Gordon - Defensive Specialist
Joensuu - PKing Tough guy - Pitlick

in the go-ahead. Maybe even flip Yak and the 3rd line

- Morris

That would be beautiful.

The idea that Anton Lander + 2nd for Abdelkader constitutes "spare parts and late picks" is silly.

I'm not talking about bona fide power forwards. I'm talking about Abdelkader, who's scored 66 points in four years. I'm talking about Winnik, who's a former 9th round pick that Anaheim got for free.

I'm talking about defensive specialists, and yes they often go for very reasonable prices.

- Morris

That's only if the Wings covet Lander. I'm going to suggest that the wings are happy with JA, and have little or no interest.

Yeah he is doing alright, at this point the guy is at least doing what is being asked of him or making the most of this opportunity.
- Tapdog

Can't argue with that third line last night.

Keep that poop together.

Yes but it's value to your team vs actual value. A guy like say, McClement is worth what? Maximum a 2nd if your lucky, but his value to the team is such that they would never make that trade. Like Boyd Gordon, he is what he is and if you got offered a 2nd and a medium prospect it is well worth him, but not at the cost to what he brings to the team.
- AdamFrench

Perhaps I've freaked everyone out by putting names and faces on it.

I suggest at any given time there are a handful of defensive wingers that teams would not abhor trading. I suggest in fact it's absurd to think otherwise.

I suggest that the cost to acquire a defensive winger that a team would not abhor trading would be a pick and a prospect. History suggests this to be the case.

Daniel Winnik and Justin Abdelkader provide two examples of players that people can picture in their heads when I suggest acquiring a defensive winger that teams would not abhor trading, with no specific comment on whether the team would abhor trading them or not. Anton Lander and a 2nd round pick provides an example of what I mean when I say a pick and a prospect.

I'm not trying to be completely undeft to the intricacies of trading, nor to the value a specific player has to a specific team.

There exists at least one defensive winger roughly analogous to Winndelkader on a team that doesn't happen to love them at this moment, but who might like a package roughly analogous to Lander2nd. I suggest MacT try his hardest to find out who that player and team is, and be prepared to offer that cost.

just a question, why on earth would Daniel Winnik and Justin Abdelkader respected teams move them for Lander and a pick??? It doesn't help a play off contender much to ditch them. The oil will have to offer more, or don't you think the deal would have happened last month?

You are probably correct, but there is no evidence that this is completely true. Perhaps your price tag is off, and these teams are looking to upgrade over these players ( which we have nothing to offer), no matter how many fancy words words you use to suggest otherwise.

This may have been unclear (I edited my post) but I'm using them as examples of the type of player, not as specific targets.

Keeper for the spank bank no doubt. Love Asian women , unfortunately, still unchecked on the bucket list ( but working on it).

I've had half-asians and Polynesian girls before, but still haven't taken care of the yellow fever . Lots of them here in Toronto though, it's great for staring and drooling when out in the bars

I think what threw me off, as well as others was the listing of players on good teams. We played a team last night that had a few players we could use, and I don't think they mind picks and prospects.
Bergenheim could help us.

Last nights line-up.

Hemsky - Nugent-Hopkins - Eberle
Smyth - Gagner - Yakupov
Jones - Gordon - Arcobello
Gazdic - Acton - Eager

where does Omark fit assuming he actually draws in tonight? This may be a 13th forward thing for a bit but that doesn't really make sense to me.

Eager sits. Drop others down to get Omark in the top six.

Maybe Jones sits and Smyth drops but I can't see taking Jones out over Eager right now.
