I believe the Canucks are no better with Booth in the line-up than not.... and that is where the rubber meets the road.

Too long was he touted as the perfect winger for Kesler only to be wasting away Kesler's most prominent scoring years.

How long can he stay on the farm? (now that he's seen Pariee.... sorry you must older than 44 to get that one)

*whew* --- well I have emotional stability so it has been easy to block these out but I recall maybe 100 Lou Rumours, Edler, Nothing about Kassian coming, nothing on Roy.... only vagueness about Shneids...

You mother...

5-3 Nucks. Expecting a shooting gallery from Vancouver. Smith lets in 2 bad ones but makes 40 saves, OEL-Michalek go +3.

My favorite was "Western Canada Team Getting Rich Nash. More To Come".......................................... never heard from again. Aside from the stupidity of not naming the "Western Based Team", his Canuck rumours are all false or broken at the time of the trade.... like when it is already public knowledge or about to be.

Has he ever outed a successful Canuck trade? Anything? Not in my memory. Earlier this season he was touting a Montreal/Vancouver trade, did so last year too... total BS. Unless it is Flyer related, I never buy into him anymore.

- Beatle_john

You mean like Schenn to the Flyers but not for JVR lol or whatever that was like haha

He is always shooting blanks... any 10 yr old kid could get as many right as EK.

Is that before he dives and has to leave the game for an injury to cause a suspension>?

Nah, if that happens he will have won, eliminated your team from contention then stroked himself to your misery.

Damn cap, stuck with the hit whether he is on the farm or with the team- a million dollar or less minor league prospect can produce similar production.

What is better for team chemistry and future success (this season of course), Booth in the lineup or not?

edit: I am with Beatle John on the team being just as good without Booth in the lineup. Last year there was a stretch where he was always going to the net, I liked, but without any results. Has he ever been a game changer or scored a gwg? I can't remember. But still feel a bit sorry for him with his injuries and bad luck. He isn't earning his contract and hasn't shown he consistently belongs in the top6.

Don't those two play against top lines ... Thus meaning they will outscore the sedins by 3 even strength ... And the Canucks will either score 5 goals without the twins or their pp will rise from the dead ...

The Coyotes are scoring the 4th most goals/game, giving up the 6th most against. So you're score prediction would fall in line with reason. Nice to see Tippett opening the team up from their defensive doldrums.

Tippett is one of the best coaches in the league, changes his approach to suit the players he has. Not stuck with a system that serves the lowest common denominator.

Mind you, Torts is having success with his system, just wondering what AV is doing in NY, if he is trying to push a system too different or what the story is there?

Is this PHX team that much different than the last few seasons? Seems like Tippett just decided the previous system had limitations and decided to change his approach. Lo and behold it seems to be yielding every bit as good results as the better seasons of the old system. Would love to see Trotz have the guts to make the same changes after 15 years of shut the gate and flood the yard hockey.

You may be right, that Einstein quote on insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, comes to mind.

I am glad we have Torts and I believe the players are too. Must be a bit invigorating for them to be challenged by a new coach and system.

Agreed. Which speaks to your original point, Tippett is a good coach.

I know we like to say coaches play the system based on the players they have but in reality I think it's generally the opposite - most coaches have a system they believe in and shoe horn their players into that structure. It's a good coach that can successfully change the team approach with the same players at his disposal.

Yeah, I agree.
You really have to have the right mix and approach to be successful. We really stagnated a bit since that run, and that was with the same core, systems and approach to the game...

Torts has made a difference so far with a different voice and system... time will tell if the top line can handle the extra minutes and still have something in the tank for the playoffs.

So far this season has been a pleasant surprise. Go Nucks!

So Downie throws a hit (there's hitting in hockey)... Landeskog responds like a typical Swedish b!tch & retaliates with a dirty slewfoot instead of confronting him face to face or dropping the gloves... Downie drills him straight up later on in retaliation for the dirty trip... and Downie's the bad guy?

It's well known that Downie's a kunt, but IMO Landeskog's reaction to the hit was the problem in this instance. You're the captain... Dirty stickwork retaliation should never happen. Got a problem? Drop your gloves pu$$y.

I thought Landeskog was better than this.

I dunno about you, but I am a bit confused by the explanation in the article linked on how it all played out. Who hit who first with a dirty hit, who retaliated first. I didn't like that so I am going to trip or pitchfork you.
Maybe Downie has more of a history with the edgy approach and being edgy with team mates is not desired, but that is what he brings. Gabe given a pass for the eye for an eye approach because he is young and the captain?

Should we wait for an Alberts trade because he tried to cheap shot or took a run at one of the rooks in camp?
