i heard some bans were handed out the other night. maybe that's why it's so quiet around here. or maybe the flyers are so embarrassing they're slowly killing the fan base.

We're rested, Lecavalier's back for us, Skinner's out for them. Their situation in net is like ours in 2010, when we couldn't keep a guy in there.

We get it done tonight, 3-2. Giroux, Lecavalier (PP), and Simmonds with the goals.

Huge week, though. If they can get these three games, which appear to be winnable on the surface...

Yes, Yakupov would be a great fit here, just like all the other Russian players that have graced the Flyers ice surface.
- aantny88

What is the issue with Russians? They are not the same. Its just like saying all Black NBA players are the same.

I want to bring in a young sniper. Stars cant do it themselves... Ovie has Backstrom. Crosby has Malkin, Getzlaf has Perry, Marleau has Thornton, Sedin has Sedin.... We need to get Giroux that guy, and since Yakupov might be available... I would jump all over it.

Yes G needs to be better, but so does Jake, Hartsy, Simmer, Kimmo, Streit, etc. In 2005-2006 when Forsberg didn't have a goal in 8 games, most were not saying the same things about him as they do about G. Why? Because they were still winning games. Last time I checked hockey is a team game, and the "C" poop is way overblown.
- aantny88

The thing about Forsberg was that he was still playing very well. Giroux has been playing like crap.

Nope. Ongoing personal attacks...

I'm worried that the Oilers will exploit the new, slower older defense...but that's a concern for Saturday

I dont know why the blogger are ok with the Ref's going Ban-happy. I understand some law and order needs to take place, but don't they realize fewer posters means less blog hits, means less advertising money, means less incoming money. I'm not sure if Bill and them get paid for this, but at the end, traffic does matter, and When your banned, you a lot less likely to click the link.

Back a few years ago, every blog had 30-40 pages of comments. A lot of posters left because of the repeated nonsense that went on here.

Good posters bailed and won't return, folks who brought a ton of hockey knowledge and were funny as Hell. I left for a week because it just became ridiculous in here, and the only reason I returned was because of some being banned and other posters who decided to return as well

Commenters that can't stay on point makes the content less desirable to view by casual readers.

it also works the opposite as well. A lot of people will stop coming to a board if there are people on there abusing others. Id rather have the serious people here and keep the other bumholes out.

I also don' think the advertisers want thier company name tied to a board that allows the personal attacks and childish behavior that can manifest itself...so it works both ways i think...

I can understand that, but your putting too much on people to determine whom, for what, and for how long. I mean people come in here and are rude to eachother all the time. But not everyone is banned. IMO unless there is something extremely offensive like a racial slur or nakedness then a Ref should only BAN if the person being offended pushes the Report button, and it is deemed to be bannable.

While there are people I dont like on this site, and they sometimes take Trollish shots at me, I would rather determine if I felt the shot was low enough that I want to report him. Otherwise, if there are people you dont like, ignore them.

As a matter of fact, this site should come up with an Ignore feature that would allow you to ignore the post of anyone you choose.
