I'm starting to feel generally bad for you guys not the team

I am just used to it now. Luckily I have other things going for me other than hockey, or I would have slit my wrists, or died of aids in a fire a long time ago

suck it

rangers will never give up mcdonagh. if there's a deal in the works, i think it's more of a package for yakupov than a straight up deal. i'm thinking MDZ + JT Miller + 1st + prospect like Lindberg or Fast or Kristo.

i think so too, but it doesn't make sense from a rangers standpoint to give up our only healthy scoring winger for another scoring winger. i still think it's a package based around MDZ.

you have already have elite offensive talent, what you lack is depth and grit. a guy like miller would be great on your squad. young, hard-working, very similar to dubinsky but more offensive upside or mike richards but less offensive upside. MDZ isn't as bad defensively as people make him out to be. he's kind of the team's whipping boy when things go badly. maybe mcilrath is involved in the deal?

That deal sucks on so many levels....

What part of Edmonton's needs does it address?

MDZ is not the type we need on D.none of the others come close to making anything close to a deal.

If indeed Yak was going that way, like it or not it would need to be a real player coming back.

miller is the exact type of player edmonton lacks. MDZ would become your #2 defender to be honest. lindberg is a really good prospect, projects to be an amazing 3rd line center or a good 2nd line center who's clutch, can score, and is shutdown offensively. plus you get a 1st round pick that might be a lottery pick for all we know and maybe even another prospect.

your team is really young, and this deal gives you 4 or even 5 young players under the age of 23 that will grow with your core and become legitimate NHL players. it's not as bad as you think.

if you don't want MDZ, be afraid, because he happened to play his best game all season and score a goal with all of edmonton's front office scouting the game tonight

Mcilrath goes beast mode.... if he can skate he'd be welcome on the team.

the problem is his skating is the questionable part of his play.

it's not his strength but it's greatly improved.

from a few days ago:
"From reports coming out of Hartford, McIlrath has improved in all aspects of his game. From positioning to skating and now to scoring, the rugged defenseman is making a case that he might be ready for the NHL."

and:
"Early into the 2013-14 season, there is a noticeable difference. Paired with experienced veteran and team captain Aaron Johnson, McIlrath has played top-pairing minutes. His positioning has improved a great deal as has his heavy shot, which he is not afraid to use. When combined with his willingness to drop the gloves, McIlrath is beginning to look like the player the Rangers drafted him to be. He could get a look in New York later this season, but should be a regular in the NHL next season."

but i think if we move MDZ, we won't move mcilrath.

If the Oilers end up sucking enough for a lottery pick they should pick a defenseman.

i hope he's not involved. obviously for yakupov, i trade him (but i think he's too risky for edmonton to accept), but i've been waiting for him for 3 years and he's borderline ready now.

The powerplay sucks because we dont let yak get the one timer. Always on the other side with nuge and eberle and they both turn it over becuase they get pushed around and arent stron enough and ebs doesnt fight for the puck. Try see washington and see how they always give Ovi the one timer and give it to yak because he has a wicked shot

i wouldn't bother with him as a return. no more prospects for edm.
