If they lose this game because they are tired im going to be pissed. They are far and away a better team than NYR.
- mighty13duck

Yeah that's obvious. They are definitely the better team.

NVMC isn't the first arena in history to have a leak in its' roof or have a 30 year old pipe burst. In reality, all of those maintenance issues are/were the responsibility of SMG, which stands for Slumlord Management Group. Never heard better sound in an arena for a concert and can remember how 15,000 fans could sound like 50,000.

In spending a Billion dollars to renovate MSG, they still haven't been able to remove the smell of piss from their facility. All my Canadian friends who have ever visited NYC have told me they refer to MSG as the world's smelliest arena. So, who cares. Anyone been to Joe Louis arena recently? Maybe no one rags on it because the Wings are perennial contenders.....
Ho hum....

Rangers lose. Win tomorrow seperates us from the pack with a comfortable five points. Important game tomorrow.

Callahan cost this team the game. His hands are too small and his shoe laces keep coming untied. bad form.

"Bouchard has played better for last 5 games. Just everyone evaluates everyone on just G and A.

Hickey haters are now gone. I havent see a Amac bash in few nights either. "
Spartiarti

one of my most hated Islanders of all time. Fack! I wonder when he gets his first call up...
- NewYawkIslandez

He's about five Sound-Tigers behind getting called up to THIS team. This isn't the 2008-09 New York Islanders. That useless pile of crap doesn't have a prayer of making the starting 12 here nowadays. Bridgeport just probably wants to throw a vet in with all the kids- maybe someone who wants to work his a$$ off for the delusion that a NHL team might sign him...maybe some of the work ethic will rub off, which would be a good thing.

Eh, we've said this before about a lot of strange signings though. "Don't worry, just depth for Bridgeport," or they'll only play in case of injuries. Next thing you know we're wondering why someone we like is being scratched for that player and why he's on the second power play unit

You just don't know what's on the GM's and coach's mind sometimes. I'd like to think you're right. It makes all the sense in the world. We'll see.

http://gocheckers.com/articles/376-rick-dipietro-to-take-time-with-comeback.html

In his first two games with the Checkers, both losses, he allowed nine goals for a 4.53 goals-against average and .875 save percentage.

- eichiefs9

Of course in his second game they pelted him with 43 shots so the 5 goals given up may have been more of the team absolutely sucking. I don't expect much from DP but frankly would love to see the kid make it to the Hurricanes roster, especially considering we have to play them a few more times!

Or no one rags on it because in the cess pool that is Detroit, it still looks like a palace.
When considering the NVMC you also have to figure in the cost of the lease. If the Isles had a lease that wasn't draining their account, there would have been far less complaining about the state of building. Unfortunately one monster feeds the other which makes it an albatross.
In the case of the Joe, they've begun plans to build a new arena.

Right about the Joe being a diamond in the rough that is Detroit.
Wrong about defending SMG. (I know it's your instinct to somehow disagree with what I write Mr K.I.A) The lease was inherited. SMG knew it before hand.
Wrong about Jor plans only beginning. I know a project manager from Bovis, who built CitiField for the mets. The New Joe was supposed to be his next project when he finished Flushing. How ironic.

really would like Poulin to get the start tonight, but expecting Cappy to go back to Nabby. I just hope he doesn't keep allowing multiple softies, this team keeps scoring goals and should be at least 4-6 points higher in the standings right now, but our goaltending and defense have cost us in a big way. Still a great opportunity to put some room between us and the rest, and to move up on the Pens.

My preseason prediction of Philly in the basement is coming true Can't say I'm surprised.

WRONG about thinking I'm defending SMG. No one hates SMG here more than I, that I can assure you. I've posted their shady past and connections to Eddie Snider more than a few times here. My mention of the lease, if anything else, is to sum up how SMG would have rather had the Isles go bankrupt than release their grip thus making the success aspect of it all nearly impossible. A point I'm pretty sure you've disputed.

As for the Joe, I said 'they've begun' but wasn't trying to say they've just begun. The debate of renovation vs. rebuild was going on more than a decade ago and they announced as early as 2012 that new plans were being considered for the rebuild.
Of course they only announced those plans and their subsequent $285 million public funding a short while ago.

That team better stay competitive because if they ever become the Dead Wings of the late 60's 70's & 80's that made the playoffs twice in a 17 year span, not only will that building be empty, but the economics of that area will eliminate any chance of a new building.
