If they move Hiller this season, it would set the stage for a Miller to Anaheim trade imo. I think Miller for Gibson is a win-win for both sides. Don't forget the Ducks have Fasth and Andersen in their system so they could afford the luxury of moving Gibson. Miller has been very good this year and I think he would do very well in Anaheim.

i don't get this anaheim-miller talk. especially for gibson.

why would the ducks trade the best goalie prospect in the world who is only 20 years old and guaranteed to be with the ducks for at least 7 more years for a 33 year old goalie who's going to be a UFA in a few months? especially when they have hiller, fasth, AND anderson?

I don't get it either. ANA certainly does not need to make a trade for Miller before the deadline. They have 2 good NHL goalies they can wait till he is a UFA it's the teams that Miller might not want to go to that can't wait till he is a UFA and likely shouldn't since there is no way he will sign there as a UFA anyways. Teams like EDM and the Isles are the teams to likely over pay for him now to give him a chance to at least try and see if he likes it there to give themselves at least a glimmer of hope that he will resign with them.

anaheim is in great shape in net. if they go after miller, it will be for a gross underpayment because they're not desperate to overpay with a guy like gibson.

Those are exactly my thoughts. If Miller decides not to take EDM or the Isles of his list if they are in fact on it then he might not get moved for anything but pennies or nothing at all. A part of me wants him to stick it out with the Sabres and walk for nothing I am a bit of a jerk

i would love that because i HATE the sabres. but seeing them trade him for a 1st and then drafting a bust (like larsson ) would also be pretty sweet.

If I was ANA I personally wouldn't give up Gibson for Miller straight up let alone the added first and second round picks you're GM would also want. I am not saying it isn't fair but sometimes you say no to fair deals because you like to much what you see in a player to give up on him. Now maybe I move one of said other goalie prospects plus a little bit more for Miller but I just find it very very hard to believe there is a good goalie market out there. I also thought the reason the Ducks moved Ryan was to avoid future cap problems ? with Getz and Perry both making very large amounts of money. So why move Ryan then add a 33 year old goalie who will more then likely want the same amount as he is making now and a long contract to retire there. If I was ANA I would just stay away from Miller I see to many problems unless they some how Rape Buffalo on the trade then they should just stay away and wait till he is a UFA if ANA is really a place Miller wants to go then why waste valuable assets to get him there when he likely could be had for free at years end. Just my thoughts on that situation

fair points. My thought was only if they decide to move Hiller, they might want to trade for Miller for the playoff run, not put it into the hands of their prospects. Certainly, they could not trade for Miller at all and sign him in the summer, which I can see them doing.

I don't think you read my post. I said if they trade Hiller they might entertain the thought of trading for Miller, all I'm saying.

so your post about disliking the trade of Miler to Anaheim has more to do with your clouded hatred about the Sabres. Gotcha!

meh Larsson has been playing very well the last 4 or so games seems to have found his game. He will only ever be a 30-35 point guy but he is a very smart player with great vision and hockey sense he will be a top 2 guy. He is only going to be 21 this month. He has been in the league 3 years and I would say 3 years is right on track with when most D start to figure out the NHL and start to blossom. I among many others would of loved for it to happen right out of the gate but if it comes late it's still better then it not happening at all

If Hiller is traded it will be for a top four d-man or for a quality forward IMHO.
