I was thinking the same thing....a 250 pound gorilla stomping on your ankle with a ridiculously sharp boot just might cause a wee bit of damage that a sock isn't gonna stop.

I'm telling y'all: chain mail.

I like Raymond with Kadri.. But Clarkson idk..
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Makes sense...need to balance out the lines...Kadri cant be with JVR and Kessel with Bolland and Bozak out.

Some light weight chain mail around the ankles would stop these injuries once and for all

Sure they can wear what the old Knights used for protection but then they would all skate like Mark Fraser.

That "indefinitely" tag stings a bit.

It's good the surgery went well. At least it wasn't the Achilles tendon. Though even in the best case he's probably out 3 months minimum.

The question is how they handle this. Could try a stop gap situation. Convert Raymond to the second line center role. Has played NHL center more recently than just about anyone else on the roster and certainly more recent than JVR's college days.

Survive 3 weeks and Bozak can come back and take a top 6 spot. Then survive the next few months with Kadri, Bozak, McClement, and Smith.

Otherwise you have to make a trade for a stopgap solution.

Oh jesus.. relax would you.

They dont have any other centers up right now for practice.

Were talkin bout practice.. Practice.. Not a game.. Practice.

I wonder why they didn't call anyone up

They're gonna give this a try before figuring out who to call up. As said in the previous thread, of all the marlies, they probably like Leivo the most... so they want to see if one of the current NHLers can fill the center role.

Hopefully Kadri can spark something in Clarkson. He's been known to do that. But those two on a line could spell penalty issues. I guess the options are limited.

This is a good time to experiment with JVR at center. A full week of practice should help.

Leivo is their best player in the AHL no doubt.. But i wouldn't count on him to contribute much. Leafs will need to play very good defense while Bozak and Bolland are out. Leivo likes to hang around the net. Hey man if your right thats awesome. But it's monday and the next game is friday.

Really stating the obvious after quoting me sure sounds like you were being a follower.

Though if you want a promotion to General Obvious that's fine by me

You know, last week, I was pissed at the schedule makers for this week. Now? Loving it. Scheduling-wise, it's the best case scenario for the Leafs.
