Where oh where is Keith Aucoin when we need him?
Had Colborne not sucked during camp this would have been his chance.
Good thing we have some points in the bank because we are going to need them to ride this out. |

What about making the chin pads slip ons and on the calf/achilles area have a thin plastic pad covering those areas attached on the sleeve of the chin pad? |

It's Kadri's opportunity to get 20+ mins/night .....time to prove he's for real. |

Some light weight chain mail around the ankles would stop these injuries once and for all |

I thought Kevlar wasn't really meant to stop blades in the first place... it's good at killing momentum in small objects, but when you have a blade with a constant force behind it, it just goes right through. - Feeling Glucky?
It's just really strong. My Kevlar canoe weighs 38lbs (16 ft) but its really thin. They are always coming out with new materials now so dyneema or whatever will be outdated soon. |

The guy scores all our goals and now you want him performing healing rituals? Talk about putting pressure on a guy! |

I was thinking the same thing....a 250 pound gorilla stomping on your ankle with a ridiculously sharp boot just might cause a wee bit of damage that a sock isn't gonna stop. |

McLement needs to earn his next contract too. If he wants to be paid like a 3rd line centre its time to defend well and chip in a bit more offense. Those two are probably going to get 40+ mins/night for the next 5/6 games. |

It's good the surgery went well. At least it wasn't the Achilles tendon. Though even in the best case he's probably out 3 months minimum.
The question is how they handle this. Could try a stop gap situation. Convert Raymond to the second line center role. Has played NHL center more recently than just about anyone else on the roster and certainly more recent than JVR's college days.
Survive 3 weeks and Bozak can come back and take a top 6 spot. Then survive the next few months with Kadri, Bozak, McClement, and Smith.
Otherwise you have to make a trade for a stopgap solution. |
