Hearing all sorts of time frames like month of November, 40 games, season... we do know that it was not the Achille's tendon, whether that is good news or not, I don't know. I'm assuming so, but no idea on time frame.
- gravyface

Achille's tendon would be the worst tendon to severe in the foot area, takes longest to recover and rehab from. Although severing any tendon takes a while to come back from.

Then again, Karlson completely severed his Achillie's and was expected to be out for the whole season and beyond and was back way before that.

#Leafs have been outshot in 13 of 15 games this season. They are 8-5-0 in those games.

Only the Leafs would.

- peddy-93

If you check into the ESPN shot tracker, you'll see that the majority of those shots we're facing are on the outside; like 70% of them on average.

So while the Corsi crybabies are freaking out, I have faith in tracking scoring chances, not shots. Good thing Carlyle does too

I understand that, but in that Vancouver game, there were ample amounts of quality scoring chances.

I don't read in too much regarding shot count as opposed to quality, but there have been games where the Leafs give far too many quality scoring chances. Bernier and Reimer bailed them out on a lot of them.

I agree, i think this team has played on par with what the record indicates. However Carlyle has to address the give aways especially from the back end. Our forcheck hasn't been as good as it can be either, but it's early November, lots of time for improvement.

ya me too... I thought the only reason he was able to come back as early as he did was that it was not completely severed, and they didn't have to carve up his leg to retrieve the end.

When it's fully severed, it retracts up towards the calf (as I understand it...).

but this could all be BS...

I think Carlyle cares about all of it.
Against better teams the Leafs looked especially awful (Van/Chi). the season have ups and downs, I dont expect the leafs to convert the chances at such a high rate as they have been.

They can't continue to be outshot by 10+ a game, and to say you dont care is silly.

I stopped counting Vancouver's quality scoring chances when I got to 10, and that was in the 1st perio.

over the course of the season, you are right, but on Saturday it could easily have been 7-0 or 8-0 after 2 periods, and we couldn't have faulted Reimer at all.
That was just a terrible game by the Leafs.

No One in Northern Ontario knows what the Hell a Donair even is.

Besides the Ocean, I miss Donairs almost as much from back home.

it's all well and good to say that a lot of shots are coming from the outside. as much as 70%. but the fact is, every team can say that. the majority of shots in an NHL are non-threatening. but if you're giving up 40 shots a night, you're still giving up a lot of chances in prime scoring areas.

Well the chain ones in Ottawa are hit and miss. If you don't mind more generic Shawarma.. Most people would rather go downtown to Shawarma Palace, Shawarma's King, or Castle Shawarma.. But i lived in the glebe and meadowlands merivale so i became accustomed to Civic Shawarma, La Shish, Shawara Prince, and Shawarma Andolas. Im pretty much an expert at this stuff
