Agree...maybe they wanted to see where Gil was add and if they could move him to another team where he can get some playing time...

Well that and the title of the blog is that Dallas is inquiring about Luke Schenn, not that the Flyers are shopping Schenn.

Why does trade talk arise for players when their value is at their lowest? Like last year when everyone in Habs nation wanted Markov gone before the start of the year. Trade him for what? a box of timbits? At least pair the guy up with someone that'll make him look good in hopes of increasing his value.

Not sure I can see that unless there is a D going the other way, and I'm not sure the Blues are willing to part with Shattenkirk unless something really special is coming back the other way. JBo and Petro aren't going anywhere.

To STL: Giroux, L Schenn
To PHI: Stewart, Shattenkirk, 1st

This is about the only way I see this happening, but I doubt Giroux is going anywhere and I'm not sure the salaries would work out either.

So the Salary Cap just disappeared for the Blues, and stewart is just as snake bitten as Giroux, dont see the point of moving Shattenkirk for Schenn either.

If you want Giroux and his long term contract you are going to probably part with more than under preforming pending UFA Stewart. Tarasenko would have to be a part of the conversation at least.

To be perfectly honest, the only player the Blues have that would result in the Flyers permitting Claude's name to come up in the conversation is Pietrangelo, because the only thing that justifies opening that kind of hole at #1C is filling our hole at #1D. If AP's not in the discussion, neither is Giroux.

I spoke to the Dallas pro scout (Danny O'Brien) after the second period of the Flyers/Caps game on Friday and he indicated to me that he was not favorably impressed with what he saw from any Flyer defenseman (especially Coburn and Grossman and including Luke Schenn) that night.

That was really the wrong game to see if you wanted to come to a favorable impression of any Flyer, though.

Has there been a game that we could use to engender a favorable impression?

Most of them, for Mason. The Isles game, for Vinny.

Outside of that?

Plus what else? I dont think thats a fair deal at all. I dont even think the KHL wants Liles and they like taking guys from the NHL. I was wondering myself about how long does a "Prospect" have until they lose theyre hype. Or I guess. How long do they have until one of them isnt worth Shea Weber ++
- poisondhearts37

I understand he's being mentioned here because this is a Flyers discussion. However, I see Shea Weber being mentioned all the time on these boards and other boards. I was curious what hockey fans outside of Nashville think of Weber in regards to what number he would occupy as far as best active defenseman. I'll take Detroit fans opinion with a grain of salt.

If I'm the Flyers I'm all over than deal. I know Giroux is a God in Philly, but I really think that deal makes them a little better.

Where exactly does it state that the Flyers are shopping him? So in this clowns theory, the flyers sat him so he's going to be shopped? Soo, they are going to have to trade a poop load of players because they've sat Mesz,Gus,Gill,Schenn,Rosehill,Hall and Rinaldo. Please shut up!
- twpguy

They would love to trade every one of those players I bet.
