I would do that to. When Marchand is playing hockey he is a very strong possesion player and is capable of putting up points. Now the question is would moving to Philly bring the stupid out of him more or get him to play hockey more. People can say that he is a rat all they want he can play hockey and the incident with the Sedin brother was funny and i would still think that had it been done to Parise/Kovalchuk ect when they where here. It's not like they where hard punches.

He's been extremely frustrating to watch this year, I'm probably overreacting here

Well they moved JVR to get him. So im gonna assume the asking price will be pretty high.
- poisondhearts37

Look how that turned out since they gave the better player away in that deal so it seems Desperate GM's make desperate moves and I think after the fire Holmgren chants he is feeling a bit of heat.

Not sure what Dallas would be willing to trade that would fit the Flyers needs in a deal for Luke Schenn.

They're not going to move Benn, Seguin or Nichushkin, and guy like Trevor Daley would be a good fit, but given the age differences, that's not enough for Schenn, IMO.

Despite his struggles, he's shown flashes of being a good second pair defenseman and is still pretty young.

Has Goligoski entered the level of Liles yet where he is immovable? He can skate and move the puck wonder if a package of if would be involved ? I haven't seen if he has a bad contract or not though so don't hold me against it.

Sounds like a deal of Marchand for Hartnell should be in order then.

The worst part of that trade is that they didn't even really have a huge need for Schenn.

They had 2 26 year old defensemen with similar skill sets in Nicklas Grossmann and Braydon Coburn who had both just signed new extensions, and they had another 26 year old defenseman in Andrej Meszaros, who is not the most mobile guy in the world.

They needed a mobile guy, as the only guys on the roster at the time that had good wheels and puck skills were Matt Carle, who was a pending UFA & 36 year old Kimmo Timonen.

If the Flyers didn't already have an offensive defenseman who is bad in his own end in Streit, I'd be more interested in Goligoski. Maybe the Stars will take Streit & Schenn and trade the Flyers Gogo & a T-Bone steak

I am sure the Flyers love Dillion but I think he is also pretty close to untouchable. Think they would take a forward ? or are they looking to swap D ? I think that Roussel guy would be the perfect Flyer. I am unsure if he is any better of a hockey player then Rinaldo though.

Backlund isn't worth the Gatoarde bottle Sean Couturier drinks from.

- tomburton99

That tells me all I need to know about Backlund because I don't think Couturier is worth a poop at all.

So, when are the Patrick Kaleta rumors to Philly going to happen? He would fit in very well.

If Rinaldo had a brain in his head, he could be a poor man's Marchand...

Yeah, Dillon's another. Doubt the Stars would be eager to move him, at least right now...I could see Daley, but I think Philly would want more than a 30 year old for the 24 year old Schenn

I thought Couturier was going to be a stud, but his career trajectory screams 3rd line C with 35-40 pts a year.

Flyers biggest needs are puck movers on the blueline and skill on the wing(namely left wing)

Ideally I'd like to see them move Coburn+ or LSchenn+ for a skill winger and move Simmonds or Hartnell(or both) and get a faster moving Dman in here. Our D is slow and a lot of our problems are stemming from just that.

That Chiason guy score goals like its all the guy does is 6'4 another guy they would love but likely not a guy Dallas wants to part with. I would much rather Schenn the Volchenkov but I think just about anyone would. Also found out in last night games the last time the Devils traded with the Flyers was in the last 80's lmao Chico Resche for a third and also we have next to nothing we can afford to give up

The slow D was our problem but it has been fixed since the injection of Gelinas. Very bad sentence having D and injection in the same sentence.

Nah, both the Flyers and Devils are in rough spots with their roster flexibility right now.

I'm pretty sure there's never been a trade between Lou & a Flyers GM

There was one ! it was the Cadillac question of the night been over 20 years though. Lou is a crusty old (frank) but I love him. I think all the rules and standards he sets limits what he can do though.
