I think playing JVR out of position would be irrelevant. When Kadri can just center that line. The only decent center we have in the marlies is Mckegg. Since we already have smith playing, might as well bring Mckegg up since he suits better the 2nd line over guys like mcclement and smith in terms of creating a play and offensive ability

Probably better to have at least one good line to put out there too... lol

I say throw Kadri on the 2nd line with Kuleman and Lupul.

Who cares who plays with Kessel and JVR as they seem to have their own thing going on.

We need to play smarter, D pinches forwards have to read it and cover.

Bernier plays next game - he wins, he plays again I would think against Boston

We could give Mckegg a chance but I think it will significantly hurt our offense.....
Bringing in a veteran defensive guy is not going to help right now if offense depth with Bozak/Bolland being out is our concern.... if we wait 3-4 games to see how it goes we could have a pretty bad stretch for a while (Bozak could be out longer)....

We could spend the cap space right now we will save by Bozak and Bolland's injuries and bring in a higher salary centre....... but it will be tough decision to bring in Bolland's replacement for next year ( a player signed to more than this year) or give up assets just to bring in a rental like Stastny/Camalleri (just an example of an expiring contract)......

I like the idea of bringing in a cheap offensive 1 year K guy who we do not have to give up much for and who does not affect the cap and then gives us some flexibility at cap time..... The perfect example of this is Brad Boyes from Florida

Meh thats the only line that scores majority of the time as long as kessel and JVR go ham on the occasional nights, thats all we need

Kind of disagree with the first bit. Yesterday I thought was a good showing to me that we need a blanced top 6. With JVR-Kadri-Kessel as out top line, we don't have much left. Not as much anyway. If that line disappears, we're toast.
I would prefer if Kadri was on the second line somehow, but given the circumstances, we're in a predicament with little options.
I'd like to see what McKegg can do though!

How so? Mckegg is an excellent player and is very creative. I think at the moment, he is the best option available without us making a trade or spending cap space

I like him.... but he does not appear ready 23 points in 61 games does not scream of being a solid offensive contributor at this stage of his career... nor does the 4 points in 9 games so far this year.....

Boyes on the other hand is only 31, put up 35 in 48 as the second line centre last year in Long Island and his K is only 1 million...... depends on his cost though.......

That's pretty much how I feel. That's why I put Gards with JVR-Phil. Unorthodox, but at least he can keep up!
I noticed the bad pinches too. Was yelling at the T.V. a lot last night.
Carlyle doesn't like playing the same goalie in back to back's though. so that'll be interesting.

7. No trolling and no feeding the trolls
All posters are welcome in all threads, regardless of team loyalty, to discuss hockey. But do not post merely to inflame or disrupt.

Do not engage those who are out to disrupt the thread. Simply hit the post report button "!" and the Mods will deal with it from there.

Do not correct the spelling and grammar of other posters. Their errors may make you question how much credence to give their opinions, that’s up to you, but correcting their lapses is rude and trollish.

Just wanted to point out that this section of the CoC has been blatantly broken in the last 24 hours... and continues to be... in this new thread...

- SofaKingBored

Well in that case on of these probably applies to every 3rd or 4th one of your posts

2. Please keep threads on-topic
Try to keep things on-topic. If Eklund writes a blog on Eastern Conference trade rumors, and you want to talk about the latest NHL video game, please locate the appropriate thread, or create a new one, in the forums.

And yes, there is some more leeway given for general discussion on the threads of the team’s bloggers. But when the thread is devoted to discussing hockey, keep to the point at hand.

3. No foul language or vulgarity
This is a general audience website. This means the content should be appropriate for guests of all ages. We don’t want HockeyBuzz to show up on an unsafe site screen.

Steer clear of using any of George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can't Say on Television". The filter is there for a reason, if you change a word in order to foil the filter, you will get a timeout.

The moderators will decide what's out of line. But if it is not safe for work (NSFW), it is out of line.

See this is the problem with everyone and leafs management, you guys dont believe in our prospects. Mckegg is not going to be with the leafs for the rest of the season, he will be merely a stop gap. Going out and spending capspace on some old dude is irrelevant. This is why we never get to see our prospects in the NHL, because we rarely give them a chance to prove themselves worthy at the highest level. His stats may not be the greatest in the AHL, but alot of players rise to the occasion, and he would be playing with the likes of lupul and clarkson who are decent players.

I know JVR fell asleep on the 1 play when Franson pinches and gets his stick lifted from behind. JVR is way back coming off the bench and just blows into the zone, misses everything and the Nucks took it down on an odd man rush and scored

and

6. Respect your fellow HockeyBuzzers
No name calling. And you’re not being clever if you say “any moron knows” or “only an idiot doesn’t understand.” You’re being disrespectful. Talk more about hockey and less about each other. Although playful banter is allowed, that does not mean anything goes, if the banter breaks any part of the code of conduct, it isn’t playful and it is not acceptable. When “Player X stinks" turns into "You stink" you've crossed the line. And yes, the Moderators decide where the line is.

No racial slurs or otherwise derogatory comments based on the target's assumed race, religion, gender, country, sexual orientation, or language. This goes not only for posters and bloggers but for players, management, officials, their families, and others in the public eye. This is a hockey forum for hockey discussion, take hate speech elsewhere.

Do not threaten or intimidate others—posters or bloggers. Just don't do it. If you threaten another member, expect a long, long ban.

It is not against the rules for someone to disagree with you.
