Having a depth Center like Colborne would be much better to have at this point than 2 goons in the 4th line.
- senstroll

Wait a minute.....most on here were loving the goon style of the leafs!

WTF benefit Carlyle sees in playing Orr more than 5mins is beyond me

Clarkson has proven he can be a great......waste of money!
But he has 7 more years to improve.
Come on buddy!

Orr has been fine, he's the only (frank)er on Saturday that brought anything.....until he got tossed for 10 for chirping

Well... looks like the Flyers are doomed. A terrible coach and GM.

Hal Gill is an AWFUL skater.

Dreger was reporting that there was a flyers source who was musing that Schenn might not even be a NHL calibre d-man anymore

Mirtle said they said the same thing about JVR

What's with McKegg.........wasn't he a 50 goal scorer in Junior! How could this guy just disappear in the AHL!?
- Bullot

he was never going to be an immediate ready to go pro.. tools were there but they require molding.

he continues to progress forward though, which is a very good sign.

So we should take Schenn back?

They sure know how to evaluate a player, especially a 2nd overall pick

Has had a tough time transitioning his offense to the AHL level, a lot of players who explode offensively in the juniors have a tough time transitioning it to the semi-pro/pro level

funny thing.. what schenn was projected to be (not what he is now) is exactly the type of d-man the leafs need.

he needs to stop pressuring the play.. back off and let it come to him.. like gill does. he simply does not have the wheels to be any other kind of player.

but if he backed off and just played solid boring stay at home D.. i think he'd be fine.

At least he was throwing some body checks more than we can say for the rest of the team,,,,

the least of our worries is the 4th line right now

I think the critique was that he was a below-avg skater too.

Offensive insticts always there, and he's no slouch in his own end either. Needs seasoning, size and foot speed his most concerning tools IMO.

WWE and 'educated' should never be used in the same sentence from this day forth.
In other news, Glucky still has his norris ballot for schenn at the ready

6 foot 185 pounds is big enough for todays NHL imo

i see him becoming a solid nothing fancy 3rd line centre.

Why is it absurd?

Kulemin played center for Russia. JVR played it prior to being drafted.

Both are defensively solid players, and could take the additional responsibilities of being centers.

- Feeling Glucky?

so did kessel. we can try him at center also.

Yup. He tries to do too much sometimes. If he was good positionally and continued to use his big frame and box poeple out and just made simple little plays he'd be perfect for what we need.

He has below avg hockey IQ and that's what's screwing him up.

Yeah, his foot speed for that size is a tad concerning, hopefully Underhill fixes that eventually.
