i dont get the logic.. move a winger into the centre spot and bring up someone to play wing?

you just create two weak spots with guys in unfamiliar roles instead of just one.

bring up mckegg.. put him on the second line between clarkson and lupul so that he doesnt have to focus on defensive assignments as much and keep the wingers where they play the strongest.. on the wing.

- Dozzer

I think we need to move Kadri off the #1 line. All 3 of them love the puck and Kadri would be better suited with Kuleman who loves to give the puck - spread the wealth at least until 1 of Bolland or Bozak is back

Nonis can't be desperate and overpay for a centre, I'd rather ride JVR/Kuli as a centre for a few weeks rather than make a trade that doesn't make sense for us, and only making it because we're desperate for a centre.
- peddy-93

That's why they will make a call up. Teams probably want Gardiner more than we want a center. So they see the Leafs may be looking and will overpay for him. Although i doubt Nonis will make a trade, it's far more likely than putting Kuli at center. You can't just move guys around and put them at center. If they did they would probably have to put McClement on the second line because he actually knows what he is doing, and hope that the top line carries the team offensively.

up until last game that line was working effectively

kadri is by far the best healthy centre the leafs have.

you leave him right where he is.

NO, I'm moving him to the 2nd line, we need to spread out the scoring.

so you are banking on kuli being effective even without superstar offensive wingers?

or JVRs experience in college?

you sir are a gambler.

- Dozzer

I think it's JVR's experience in highschool

Kulemin might be playing with JVR and Kessel. Those would be pretty sweet centers Even Clarkson/Lupul would be pretty good.

I'm banking on their responsible play to allow for a smooth transition from the wing to center ice.

Why is it absurd?

Kulemin played center for Russia. JVR played it prior to being drafted.

Both are defensively solid players, and could take the additional responsibilities of being centers.

- Feeling Glucky?

Neither has done it in the big leagues. Russia is a mess when it comes to discipline so they probably don't care who played center. It's not like Bozak is out for that long, they can manage with McKegg. If that a disaster then consider moving Kuli over.

Problem with that is Lupul isn't great defensively either, so he won't cover McKegg, keep McClement between Lups/Raymond, put McKegg between Kuli/Clarkson. Balances out offensively and defensively

or leave Kuli on the wing.. his biggest strength is his work along the boards.

i dont like it.. would rather promote a centre and shelter him
